We were practicing riding the bus so we went downtown to visit Pike Place market and the (in)famous gum wall.

We also visited the famous fish throwers at Pike Place Market. It’s the only type of fish we’ve seen up close since Mr. D has yet to catch one.

Unless you count the plastic ones. Cooper the dog likes to try too.

Hiking little Mt. Si

The sign of the week makes it seem easy to catch fish. Thank goodness we can just tell fish stories by the fire pit instead.
What a great week in review. I can’t catch fish either, but I sure like to eat them. Thankful that there are people who can’t catch fish. Because like the fish, I’m hooked. Have a great week.

I especially like the silhouette of Mr. D fishing. There’s just a hint of Tom Sawyer about it.
P.S. My novel Healing River is coming out this fall, Wynne. I’d be honored if you’d consider reading it and writing a brief endorsement. Assuming the publisher uses it, it will appear on the dust jacket, and possibly on the back of the paperback edition as well. Thanks and blessings! ~Mitch

Thank you, Mitch! I saw that you were publishing Healing River. Congratulations. Okay – I’d be happy read it and write a blurb. Do you have an ARC you can send me?

Great, Wynne. There’s no galley yet, but I can send you a pdf or ePub of the manuscript. Thanks again!

What lovely moments, Wynne – in nature and by the comfort of the firepit. It’s amazing you’re training the kids to ride the bus now. It’s on our list for the Spring with T.
Speaking of training, those Pike Fish Market staff are world famous. Many moons ago, for a customer service training, we watched a video that featured them. Such charming and winsome service!

I didn’t think we were going to do the bus quite yet either. But she’s ready — and that’s the moment I realized I was not. I actually miss the time in the car with her.
I love that they were in a video. They are charming, that’s for sure. One of them slapped Mr. D’s hand with a fish tail. A fish high-5! 🙂

It was THIS big! How fun taking the bus into the city and watching the fish fly. When I saw that picture of Cooper, I thought he was a bear at first.

Is the gum wall made of chewing gums ? Besides that, all the photos are very nice! The light shows that fall is approaching rather fast…

I love the Pike Place Market and the flying fish. They have done a fabulous motivational video that we used as part of our staff training once. Mr D will catch a fish when the time is right! Hugs to all.

Sigh…those pics for Mr. D. in silhouette are stunning. There’s something about a youngster sitting near water, fishing pole in hand, that stops me in my tracks. And you know what? The cover of Surviving Sue?Where Sue’s fishing? I never made the connection until now. I love those waterside pics…and I KNOW Mr. D’s got a “big one” coming soon. Love to all! 💝💝💝

I do see those Pike Place Market fish throwers featured regularly when something is being televised in Seattle, Wynne. Which always reminds me how very good my grandfather was at catching fish…and how very bad I was. He was hooked on it, and if nothing else it allowed me to spend valued quiet time with him. I don’t know if I’m gonna catch a fish at this point, but I do agree some of the best things in life haven’t happened yet!

There’s something very fishy about this post, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…
Amazing that the gum wall is still there. Forget Banksy; that’s real art!
