Photos of the Week: August 1

And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln

Miss O got braces. Pretty in pink. Mr D decided to pamper her by chopping up her popsicle and feeding it to her.

Mountain biking!

Pet parade

Sign of the week. Miss O is laughing!

  1. miss O looks so cute in her braces and it will be worth it in the end. that cool how they make colors now. when my oldest daughter had braces, my middle daughter, was jealous and made her own braces out of an opened up large paper clip to wear around. when she actually ended up needing braces, she was not jealous and understood that they weren’t as fun as she thought they would be. so kind of mr. D to pamper her with the popsicle pieces

  2. How sweet of Mr. D to chop up her popsicle! It’s amazing what kids think of. And braces come in colors now? Where was that in my pre-teen years?! Of course I love the pet parade–such pretty pets.

  3. I love how your photos express the joy of summer. I can’t wait to share the sign (aka dad joke) with a particular friend! I remember braces, got them in sixth grade. They weren’t pink, but they did make me see red, from time to time. Enjoy August, it’s bittersweet as summer winds down. I have no doubt you and your family will make it count! Peace and joy.

    1. Love your comment about seeing red, Clay. Good one! Yes, the summer wind-down starts but we’re doing our best to enjoy it all! I know you are as well!

  4. Welcome to the braces years, Miss O! And so very pretty in pink. 😬💕 I love how caring Mr D is with her through this change.

Keep enjoying your summer! You’re all packing years into these weeks. 💕

    1. Maybe the packing years into weeks is why I feel so tired — but you are spot on! We’re at the beach this week too so I feel like we’re living parallel lives. Hope you all have a great time!!

  5. Summertime and the livin’ is easy, Wynne. That mountain bike shot reminded me of prior summers where I was anywhere and everywhere on my bike. If I were to take up that activity again at this point in my life, I’d make darn sure to have a cool helmet like that one!

  6. “And in the end, it’s not the year ins in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – you and your two blessings characterize ole Abe’s credo in spades Wynne 😊 … Keep on keeping on living it, and …

  7. What a week…and oh my goodness. Cooper. Such a poser. Is he trying to gain sympathy or just pull at my heartstrings? He sure got an ‘awwwww’ from me! 😜❤️😜

  8. The kids are thriving and even Cooper seems content. A tribute to you, Wynne, the queen of the Wynne Leon family, a throne to which you have climbed mountains.

  9. Awesome all around! Braces are an amazing invention. It takes a little time for kids to get used to keeping them clean and avoiding hard foods, but the results are incredible. My son’s braces were removed a couple of years ago and the before and after is amazing.
