“When you come to the edge of all that you know, you must believe one of two things: There will be ground to stand. Or you will grow wings to fly.” – O.R. Melling

We went on a two-night camping trip with six moms (including me) and 12 kids at a state park pretty near Seattle aptly named Scenic Beach. My friend, Eric, dubbed it Mummer Camp. Perfect for all those camp activities like starting fires and creating keychains.

There was a lot of wildlife at Mummer Camp. Some of it was native.

Cooper the dog was happy when we were home and all together again. So was I – somehow the grounded got harder to sleep on in the seven years since I last camped!

Here comes the sun La Croix display and the sign of the week!
You are one brave mom. I never did well with camping, although I love nature. The picture of Cooper and the kids rolling on the grass is priceless. Have a super weekend.

Thanks, Darlene! Camping on the snow as a way to get up a mountain has been my limit and now I remember why. Hope you had a great weekend!

Looks like the iconic scene from Cast Away when Tom Hanks says “I have made fire!” Mr. D’s version is better!!!! Love it.

Such an idyllic spot, portrayed in that lake photo! Love the “wildlife” photos too! I hope the employee(s) who created the eye-catching LaCroix display earned a bonus. How clever!

Isn’t that a cool display? It’s funny because it’s easier to see with a camera than a naked eye so I was delighted with how it came across!

Your amazing summer adventures continue. So nice to see you all in the woods. The smile on the kids say it all! We’re looking forward to a visit this August too. You’ve gotten me even more excited.
That shot of Cooper on his back with just pure joy on his face is beyond adorable. Made me smile widely over here at the gym!

My daughter and I camped whenshewasa kid, then we brought her kids camping. The last time we camped a few years ago we did it in style since the ground had become too hard for us. We had double height airmattresses in a large tent. That was very good!

Oh, that’s so smart, Tamara! I’m going to borrow that one for whenever we do it again!!

Ha ha. Mummer Camp. I like that. I haven’t camped in decades. I don’t think I would do well with the hard ground these days.

Oh, it’s not so much fun, Michelle. My back hurt so I’d roll to my side and then my hip would hurt. Hmm…. 🙂
