“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.” – Kurt Vonnegut

The cat trying to pretend she’s planted. The dog trying to pretend he’s small enough to snuggle on the couch.

Window spraying, pressure washing fun!

The first run after the ice cream truck of the season…and they weren’t able to catch it. Oooh!

The sign of the week and a little duck family.
Oh, the ice cream truck was so fast😁
I smiled at Simone pretending to be a plant. 🤩
Gorgeous shots, as always, Wynne. Happy weekend!

The trick about ice cream trucks, is to always have money in your pocket.
If you don’t, and many kids don’t, you have to find your mom, who has to consider the request, who has to find her purse, who has to find money in her purse, and has to give it to you.
By then the truck is either elsewhere or has run out of your favorite flavor.
Kids should always have money on their pockets. It’s in the US Constitution!

You’ve captured it perfectly, Dr. Stein. Is it the “life, liberty and pursuit of the ice cream truck” part of the constitution?

Exactly. Since we live in the days of twisting ideas and claims, why not that!

The fun you’ve had this week is no pretence. Sorry they missed the ice cream truck. And I’d say Cooper looks like a wonderful snuggle buddy. Have a great week ahead Wynne.

I love all the photos, but sad about the ice cream truck. The truck that comes here stops and waits because the dogs can’t carry money. (no opposable thumbs) So the ice cream lady has to wait until hubby or I come with the cash. They get their ice cream most Mondays. I swear they hear the truck when it’s 2 miles away and wait eagerly at the gate. I love the pet pictures. Simone looks a lot like my grandkittie in Canada!

Oh, I love this story, Darlene! We’ve got to train the ice cream truck to wait for us! Or for Cooper to give us the alert… 🙂

The ice cream truck will be back – the ice cream truck is sort of like Velcro but with way better memories. There is always room to snuggle with Cooper – or any dog and cats always find themselves in the most peculiar places where they almost always look at home. Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, Clay — this is so good. I love how you tied to sign of the week with the ice cream truck! So clever!! Enjoy your weekend, my friend. Only 2 or 3 more days of school for you, right?

Down to three with kids with a room clean out Friday from 8-noon; then 69 days to rehearse for retirement. Going to do my best to make them count. How about your kids? When does summer kickoff for them?

I suspect you are very good at practicing for retirement! My kids are in school through mid-June. Have a great week, my friend!

Good point about the ice cream truck. I just know of one but he really gets around our part of the city in the summer!

I haven’t seen one in years! Back in the day I loved those orange pushups in the cardboard tube. Remember those? Or the huge bomb pops that turned your lips blue?

How can an ice cream truck leave children without ice cream? That’s not fair 😏

Oh the disappointment of the missed ice cream truck. 🙁 And love the ducklings. We saw a mamma duck with 6 or 7 ducklings on our travels through Nova Scotia the other day. So cute!

Ha, ha, Erin – the kids have plenty of ice cream. It’s just that it’s more fun when you get it from the truck, I guess? And more expensive… 🙂

I was about to say how fun it is to take a walk barefoot around the neighbourhood then I read the caption. 🤣 Good thing there’s a long summer ahead that awaits with more run ins with the ice cream truck.
I’d love to snuggle up with Cooper on the couch. He’s a big softie!

Remember when velcro shoes were supposed to be the Next Big Thing? That didn’t last long. Funny how they just decided to skip laces entirely and perfect the slip-on. Loafers rule!
