Photos of the Week: January 24

Be a fountain, not a drain.” – Rex Hudler

We spent time at some fountains this week. The first is on the UW campus and the second at the Seattle Center.

If you are thinking that Mr D looks like he’s in a different climate than the rest of us, you’re right. He must carry around his own heater!

Cooper stole (and ate) an entire loaf of bread off the counter. Does he look guilty? Simone the cat is suggesting he mimic her “I ate too much” pose.

The sign of the week. Also, some spooky Halloween stragglers that are keeping an eye, or at least an eyeball, on us.

    1. Oh, jus the thought of being outside in your conditions without full covering makes me shiver, Deb! It’s on me that Cooper ate that bread — but he just knows how to game our chaos so well. I was focused on making sure he didn’t eat the kids’ leftovers, and then… 🙂

  1. That shot of downtown Seattle is awesome! There is always one person who is too warm while everyone else is freezing. And Cooper, what a guy!! That’s a lot of bread for one puppy. Hugs to everyone. xo

    1. You are so right about one person having the warm engine, Darlene! And yes, I couldn’t believe he ate a whole loaf and it wasn’t even sliced. It’s on me that Cooper ate that bread — but he just knows how to game our chaos so well. I was focused on making sure he didn’t eat the kids’ leftovers, and then… 🙂

  2. I’m jealous of your weather and looks like the d is always going to have a natural built in heating system. I’d say that Cooper was simply carb-loading, maybe he has a.big adventure ahead .

  3. Oh….Mr. D. His love of his white tanks tops. Even in the winter, LOL! And Cooper? Wowza. I may have told you about the time our dog Pearl ate an entire loaf of Wonder Bread when Delaney was little. We were on “poop watch” for days. Let’s just say Pearl was a bit uncomfy in the tummy area. Wonder Bread = glue. Best of luck to you…and Cooper Duper! 😜

  4. You’re all getting quite the head start to summer and Halloween, Wynne. I’m trying not to freeze to death over here. 😂❄️ Hope you’re on the mend now an enjoy your weekend!

  5. Awww love them all! Mr. D is fortunate to have been able to go around in light clothes last week, this week’s big storm might be a different matter. Not sure if you guys are experiencing it, but your temps may plummet as a result of it. Hope Cooper didn’t experience much tummy discomfort, all that yeasty wheat doesn’t usually work well in a dog’s tummy. Hope your week is awesome!

    1. Good point, Tamara. So far Cooper is doing fine so hopefully he’ll manage. Our temperatures are cold (for us — low 30’s) but not the extreme lows so much of the country is feeling. Hope you stay warm!!

      1. Good to hear! Thanks, so far so good, though tomorrow I’ll have a big job of clearing the snow off my car.

  6. I’m surprised Cooper didn’t get sick! As for Mr. D’s built-in-heater, our youngest is equipped with one also. We lived in FL during his growing-up years. Even a tank top was too much for him–at least at home, that is!

  7. That’s exactly what I thought when I saw Mr. D. in his sweatshirt. If he was here right now, I suspect he might put on a coat. 😂 We’re in the middle of a polar vortex.

And every time you write UW, I have to remind myself you mean University of Washington, and not University of Waterloo which is a 10 minute drive from here.

    Enjoy your Sunday, Wynne!

    1. I wonder that when I type UW – I think it could be University of Wisconsin too. Gotta to love our UWs!

I think Mr. D might put a coat on if he were in your neck of the woods. Hope you stay warm, Michelle!

  8. I like the featured photo. Mr. D is just too cool, and low temperatures won’t stop him from showing off some muscle. You know what I’m going to say about Cooper—he’s innocent, and it was definitely the cat. 😂
