It’s a good thing that Halloween and Easter are about equidistant on the calendar because we just finished our Halloween candy. Now we have refilled our stores.

April Fools…the day when oversized spiders and pencils shine.

We spent some time this week on the University of Washington campus. Miss O’s teacher got a grant for the students to record pieces they’d written in a real recording studio.

Unusual things seen on the way to school. Mr. D said he was just taking a break. Not sure the raccoon was up to but I’m guessing no good.

Easter skeletons and signs.

  1. Mr D is very creative in acting out his feelings and then explaining them. I’m trying to imagine how he’ll express his feelings when he’s on his way to work in 20 years or so. Love it!

  3. Is that a 🕷️ in that cereal bowl. That just might have sent me over the edge, running back under the covers. Love the Easter basket haul. I had to complain this year that the bunny skipped my house. My mother wasn’t having it. She said that if the bunny skipped me it must be for a good reason. Bah-humbug! 🤣🤣🤣

    1. It was so fun to watch! Apparently the grade school has been following outcomes and for whatever reason, kids from this school tend not to do performing arts. So the teachers applied for some grants to get them this special experience to write and record a story. So cool!

  6. I ‘get’ the Halloween and Easter candy reference, just finish one in time for the other. It looks like the Easter bunny left nearly identical treats at your house and mine.
    What a neat opportunity for Miss O. 🩷

  7. I hope that the dental bills do not exceed the load of the loot. I don’t envy my dear mother, who had to work double time to pay the dentist bills wrought by my sweet tooth. I swear—cavities were contagious when I was a kid. Maybe if I had pulled Mr. D on my way to the dentist I could have escaped “The Chair.”

    1. The funny thing is that I have told Mr. D that he has to move his bike off the path if he’s going to take a break. I forgot to include that he should get his body off the path too. 🙂

  10. Mr. D taking a break was a lol moment. Halloween candy has been done in our house for awhile, but the Easter candy still has “a ways to go.” All hail the Easter Skeleton!🦴

  12. Very neat that Miss O and other students got to record stuff they wrote! I can see why she hugged that tree. It’s beautiful! And that raccoon certainly looks guilty of something 🙂

  15. I was about to ask is that a spider in the cereal then read the caption. It’s fun that Easter and April Fools were back to back this year.

    And what an amazing treat for the students to record their works in a professional studio. That is one special teacher. Miss O looks like she’s having quite the experience!

  17. Another great week! My grandkids seem to have torn through their Easter haul already! I work at WashU in St. Louis, and the architecture is very Harry Potterish, is it like that over there?
