“Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.” – Maya Angelou

It’s a good thing that Halloween and Easter are about equidistant on the calendar because we just finished our Halloween candy. Now we have refilled our stores.

April Fools…the day when oversized spiders and pencils shine.

We spent some time this week on the University of Washington campus. Miss O’s teacher got a grant for the students to record pieces they’d written in a real recording studio.

Unusual things seen on the way to school. Mr. D said he was just taking a break. Not sure the raccoon was up to but I’m guessing no good.

Easter skeletons and signs.
Mr D is very creative in acting out his feelings and then explaining them. I’m trying to imagine how he’ll express his feelings when he’s on his way to work in 20 years or so. Love it!

Ha, ha, Jane! You have a good point that we tone down (usually) that ability to act things out, don’t we?

Easter skeletons? That’s a new one and better than an anatomy book. Thanks, Wynne.

Ha, ha. If we can have Easter bunnies – we can have Easter skeletons!

Is that a 🕷️ in that cereal bowl. That just might have sent me over the edge, running back under the covers. Love the Easter basket haul. I had to complain this year that the bunny skipped my house. My mother wasn’t having it. She said that if the bunny skipped me it must be for a good reason. Bah-humbug! 🤣🤣🤣

Do you think maybe you just didn’t look for the eggs? I can’t imagine any reason you would be skipped!

Oh, I looked Wynne. I have my suspicions. The same thing happened with Santa Claus this year. I definitely have some thoughts on possible thieves! Ha ha!

What a great experience – to record themselves!

It was so fun to watch! Apparently the grade school has been following outcomes and for whatever reason, kids from this school tend not to do performing arts. So the teachers applied for some grants to get them this special experience to write and record a story. So cool!

I ‘get’ the Halloween and Easter candy reference, just finish one in time for the other. It looks like the Easter bunny left nearly identical treats at your house and mine.
What a neat opportunity for Miss O. 🩷
The raccoon does look like it’s up to no good. 🤔

Love that we share the same Easter bunny, Rose!! I think the raccoon was hunting for duck eggs….Good thing they are cute critters. Hope you are enjoying the weekend!

I hope that the dental bills do not exceed the load of the loot. I don’t envy my dear mother, who had to work double time to pay the dentist bills wrought by my sweet tooth. I swear—cavities were contagious when I was a kid. Maybe if I had pulled Mr. D on my way to the dentist I could have escaped “The Chair.”

I hear you about the sweet tooth, Julia. My sweet tooth is massive – must be more than one tooth involved. 🙂 ❤

What a wonderful opportunity for Miss O to record her work at the University of Washington campus this week! And smiles at Mr. D’s rest break – I might try that sometime!

The funny thing is that I have told Mr. D that he has to move his bike off the path if he’s going to take a break. I forgot to include that he should get his body off the path too. 🙂

the sign is hilarious and the raccoon is intriguing!

Raccoons have a way of looking cute when they are up to mischief, don’t they?

Mr. D taking a break was a lol moment. Halloween candy has been done in our house for awhile, but the Easter candy still has “a ways to go.” All hail the Easter Skeleton!🦴

May the Easter candy last. Always great to have something to feed the sweet tooth! Hope you are having a great weekend, Bruce!

Very neat that Miss O and other students got to record stuff they wrote! I can see why she hugged that tree. It’s beautiful! And that raccoon certainly looks guilty of something 🙂

I think the raccoon was looking for duck eggs. He totally looks guilty and a little insouciant at the same time! 🙂

I think the quote that starts off your post is perfect. A week full of light. And there’s nothing like taking a break on the way to school. I’m going to try that. Thanks Mr. D! 🤣
And Miss O must be a fabulous composer.

It’s a good way to take a break for sure, Alegria. Maybe if you do it, you can post a picture or video?? I can only imagine the goodness you’d find. Sending lots of light to you, my friend!

I was about to ask is that a spider in the cereal then read the caption. It’s fun that Easter and April Fools were back to back this year.
And what an amazing treat for the students to record their works in a professional studio. That is one special teacher. Miss O looks like she’s having quite the experience!

Yes, it was interesting to have Easter and April Fools back to back. I should have eaten all the candy and called it April Fools. 🙂

That running path looks like somewhere I’d love to be. Especially if those blossoming cherry trees happen to be nearby!
Mr. D… what a hoot!

Oh yes, David, it’s a great running path. Plenty of beautifully blooming trees and no, puparazzi – at least not off leash. 🙂

Another great week! My grandkids seem to have torn through their Easter haul already! I work at WashU in St. Louis, and the architecture is very Harry Potterish, is it like that over there?

Yes, yes – same at the UW. Very Harry Potterish!
