“A house is made with walls and beams. A home is built with love and dreams.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Flying home from Europe – first the mountains of Greenland and finally the beautiful sight of Mt. Rainier and then we knew we were home!

Jet lag and picking up the cat from Whisker’s Lodge

Glad to all be back together again – Cooper didn’t even need to steal the flashlight to get attention.

Getting our sparkler on!

The sign of the week and freedom in motion.
Simone!😍 finally, your family is home. I’m glad you’re safely arrived, Wynne. Amazing photos.

Welcome home and back together. Mt. Rainier looks wonderful from the plane. It was one of the most majestic peaks and parks I visited during my van travels.

I couldn’t agree more, Brad. Every time I see it, it sparks joy in me — and I see it a lot!

Welcome home, family! I love the smiles and sparklers and I had wondered where Cooper and Simone were at. They just look so happy to be back home. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

It’s so funny to do a big trip at the beginning of the summer — and then get to enjoy the rest. Perhaps you all are feeling the same? Nice to be home though, right?!

Yes, it’s nice to still have plenty of summer left after a getaway. 😊 Due to how Labour Day fell this summer, it appears the kids get 1 extra week off too!

Nice! The kids will bounce back a lot faster from the jetlag, how long will it take you? Looks like you all had a great time!

They are so much more resilient! It took them about 2 days and me about 5! But we’re back!! Thanks, Tamara!

Of course it took them just 2 days! 5 sounds about right! 😆😉

Welcome back! Everyone looks happy to be home (well, cats are too cool to show such emotion). Hope your trip was amazing!

I love your comment about cats, Belinda. Yes, despite the cool veneer, Simone was so happy to be running through the yard again!

It feels so good, Vicki!! Just to sit on the couch and not be carrying those suitcases. Simone’s box doesn’t count. 🙂 Thanks, my dear friend! ❤

Welcome home. Travel is wonderful but it’s always wonderful to be back home again. I’m sure Cooper and Simone were thrilled to see you.
I have a similar picture of Mount Rainier from when I landed in Seattle in 2023.

They truly are. I was reminded of the majesty of the mountains as I flew over the Rockies on my way home from BC this week. Spectacular!

I knew about “The Cat in the Hat,” but not in a box! Your family doesn’t look worse for the wear, Wynne. I imagine the smiles tell the tale. As for the sign, Camus is an interesting author, not one who appears on church signs very often. I am glad he has finally had his day there.

I’m laughing, Dr. Stein. Yes, we are liberal enough here in Seattle to put Camus on church signs… 🙂

Welcome home Wynne, we just returned too, and I’m finding it hard to reestablish my rhythm! It’s going to take some time to catch up on everyone’s lives. The sparklers, the sign, picking up the cat. I’ve missed you. Hugs, C
