“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” – Proust

This week was all about spending a lot of time practicing the things we love – baseball for Mr. D, a musical for Miss O, gardening, and putting together IKEA furniture!!

There is something full circle about feeding and watering kids — so they can grow up to feed and water the plants. 🙂

Mr. D hit a baseball into one of our planters. It cracked a hole in the planter – isn’t that crazy? The rest of the pot is fine. And the cat hat to go to her annual vet checkup so she’s looking non-plussed in a box that has also has holes, but these are intentional.

Dunn Lumber with the sign of the week!
Mr. D will crack a few windows and windshields in his baseball career. Do they sell insurance for that?

Oh, you are right about that, Dr. Stein! But in this crazy week where we’ve played baseball every day, I haven’t even had time to show him the video of the shot heard round the world. Hopefully today!

The video is patient, Wynne. No worries.

My parents held onto a dresser that I had accidentally damaged when I was a kid. Even when I was an adult, we would laugh and remember when I ruined the top surface of the dresser by pressing down too hard with a pencil. Maybe the planter will stay in your household for years to come! Also, cute kiddos, as always.

I love this story, Gwen. I was wondering what to do with the planter but you’re right – keeping it and the story that goes with it is the right way to go. Happy Mother’s Day!

Your children are helping with assembling IKEA furniture? They will become engineers!

I know – isn’t that awesome! They skipped a few steps as “optional” so we have to work on that but I’m impressed nonetheless.

That planter will make for a great story! It reminds me of my parents’ coffee table; it’s carved wood with a glass top that my brother splintered 30 years ago somehow. They replaced the glass top, but left the splintered wood and we all still chuckle when they recount the story.

How fun that your kids want to help with the gardening in addition to baseball, musicals, and other fun.

What was the musical Miss O was singing in? (I have a very distinct memory of our grand daughter Addy, just about that same age, performing in Annie. Miss O looks like a natural!

Annie – that’s a fun one! Miss O was in Fired Up – about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendago. It was so good!

Happy Mother’s Day… I thought I left a comment, but I suppose I didn’t press send or got distracted and didn’t finish. What are the odds that Mr. D’s baseball shot made a hole that looks like a thought bubble? Spring is flying and summer will soon be here and your kiddos will be ready for it! Have a wonderful Mother’s Day and a fabulous week in May.

Priceless pictures and memories to remember, Wynne. It’s a “win, Wynne” learning your power and ability to clean up and patch your messes. Fun day with all of you pitching in. I just got a glimmer into them in 5 years.. they’re great kids and you’re a great mom. Happy Mother’s Day, my friend❣️

The cat doesn’t look happy at all. I think those pupils show a little bit of anxiety. Poor thing. I spotted Cooper in the photo where Mr. D is watering the plants. I can’t tell if he’s trying to find his Zen or if he just spotted a squirrel. 😂

That’s funny, Edward. You’ve got good eyes so I had to check. That’s a statue of my beloved golden retriever, Biscuit. He definitely has his Zen on!! 🙂

I love how industrious your kids are – so helpful around the house. It is, as you said, feeding and nurturing the kids so that one day they will also help you nurture the things around the house. Love these full circle moments.
They must just be counting down the weeks till summer vacation. Around 30 more days to go for us over here.
