Photos of the Week: November 8

Maybe the desire to make something beautiful is the piece of God that is inside each of us.” – Mary Oliver

We’ve reached the time of year where when the weather is nice, we need to get out and enjoy it. So we did a little magnet fishing and bike riding.

And then when it started raining, switched to indoor trampolines and chess.

In this pairing, the theme is when the student becomes the teacher. Miss O is teaching Mr. D a little piano. And Cooper is teaching the cat to beg for dinner.

The sign of the week and a little more cuteness from Cooper.

  1. Wynne, I could not agree more with the comments above! Your weekly post is always a treat and delight. It is uplifting to see your kids navigating the world with you as their guide. Enjoy your weekend.

  2. Miss O and Cooper both look like great mentors here, Wynne. I like that Mary Oliver quote, and my wish is for everyone to eventually find that spirit within themselves and act upon it.

  3. Amazing pictures, as always, Wynne! I especially love Cooper teaching the cat to beg for dinner… presumably hoping there will be some sharing involved. 😄

    1. Oh, what an interesting point. I don’t think either one really wants to share. Although I did discover that one day when I was 45 minutes late to feed him, Cooper had gone done and gotten into the cat food bin. 🙂

  4. I just love that adorable photo of Cooper and the cat. It’s a great vital skill to learn and master! 🤣 And I so love Ms O teaching Mr D the piano – the best way to learn is by teaching others what you’ve learned.

Let’s enjoy this good weather while we can. 1st snowfall for us tomorrow! 😫 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    1. Snowfall?? That’s amazing! You are so right about teaching and learning. So far they are working pretty well together which impresses me as much as the actual piano lesson.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

  5. I’m curious if Mr. D’s notebook is related to his chess game. That would be amazing if it has something to do with his moves. I ran an after-school chess club at school for a couple of years.

    1. I can totally see you as the chess club master, Pete! No, he was doing math problems in the notebook. So far we don’t actually play much chess – just practice what each piece can do.

  6. Thank God for those indoor trampoline places, they are awesome! Beautiful picture of Miss O teaching Mr. D. Of course, the wonderful Cooper teaching the cat how to beg, and maybe showing a little endurance because dogs never give up. The sign was awesome. It took me a minute to get it, but whoever came up with that is a genius. More Cooper is always welcome.
