“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice but there must never be a time we fail to protest.” – Elie Wiesel

We had a great time at the No Kings march. It was upbeat, interesting, and we were with great friends. The quote for this post comes from my friend, Katie’s sign.

Cooper and the cat hold their own kind of protest when service is too slow. Our daisies in the candlelight kind of give off a Space Needle vibe.

Cooper being his most helpful self. In the first photo, he was watching some workers in a bucket truck. I think he saw the Louvre heist news and wanted to make sure he was being a good witness. In the second, he’s helping me replace the water filter in the fridge.

School might not be a vacation – but it was a pretty fun pre-Halloween week that involved decorating monster cookies.
Monster cookies look fun and yummy. We have sembreak here, too. Beautiful photos, Wynne. Happy weekend.

Love the quote…love your week. Full of purpose, humor, family. And given what I know about Cooper’s skills, maybe he should be consulted about the Louvre heist? He sees everything! 🥰❤️🥰

I just love how your kids are involved in democratic processes at such a young age. You’re doing them right, Wynne! 💕 They will make the country and world a better place and clean up the mess of the current administration one day!
I just love Cooper and all the updates and photos you share about him. The cat is cute too! 💕

Thanks, Ab. Hope you all have a great weekend!

it’s all about bearing witness and communicating – when things are good, you recognize, give praise and show gratitude, when they are wrong, you speak up, be present, and be strong. humans and pets alike.

It’s so awesome that you have your children involved in the ‘big things’ happening around them. They get the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people. My family never discussed major world events, and I feel like we missed out on learning so much about how the world works and how to communicate with others who think differently from us.

What an interesting perspective on involving kids, Rose. Yes, it’s been fun to talk about what’s important and worth taking a stand for. The kids have loved it too!

You are def upholding the duty to protest and teaching your kids to stand for what’s right, Wynne. 🙌🏽 I love that photo of Cooper and cat tolerating each other and Cooper looking up. Looks like he might still need some help in self control in the fridge department. Nice lead up to Halloween with the monster cookies.. 🍪💓

Ah, you pick up on so much, Cindy! Last night the cat came in from the rain and rubbed herself all over Cooper like he was a towel. The look on his face was priceless. 🙂

Funny sign and it makes me laugh and think of the field trip to drop off in Finding Nemo. What great skills to learn – having a voice and making it heard. Our kids are getting an important lesson in civics these days. All politics aside, I just wish manufacturers would hear our voice and put things the consumer needs to replace or maintain in easier places to reach. Have a wonderful week.

Wynne, because we have so much candy around in anticipation of trick-or-treat Halloween, I will have to experience those monster cookies vicariously through your site. That being said, cookie-decorating-season will begin here come November. I am looking forward to once again making some truly bizarre confections since I have no artistic skill whatsover. Fortunately, I do not eat with my eyes when it comes to cookies…I eat with my mouth and keep it simple!

Copper’s always on point, though I think he’s more focused on the BBQ sauce than on helping you with the water filter, but again, I could be wrong. 😂 Of course, I like the “Save some democracy for us” sign, so good.
