“Stop staring at mountains. Climb them instead, yes, it’s a harder process but it will lead you to a better view.” – unknown

Last weekend we visited some friends in Leavenworth, Washington where we had a great time riding skateboards and horses.

And I was able to take them rock climbing at the place where I learned to rock climb.

Cooper stayed at doggie daycare while we were gone. He was so tired when he came home he didn’t even open his eyes when we said, “Cheese!”

The sign of the week seems perfect for our rock climbing adventure. Miss O look says she might skip the stairs altogether if she can climb to the top.
A super collection of photos. Miss O looks right at home on that horse. And I believe she will make it to the top without an elevator or stairs!! That quote is one I used often as an employment counsellor.

I can see why that would be so effective as an employment counselor, Darlene! Thanks for lovely comment!

So many great shots! Sorry to be nosy and a geek too, but did you get a new camera? The pics are so clear! Now you are a whole family of rock climbers- amazing and awesome ! 💪💪

Now you have me thinking about it. No, I don’t have a new camera. However, I played around with using the iPhone “auto adjust” edit feature on some of my pictures and maybe that made a difference?

Oh those rock climbing photos are amazing! Your kids are quite brave to scale that surface and way to go for providing them this adrenaline rush of an opportunity! 💕

I told them that my leg started shaking when I got 3 feet off the ground when I was learning and they were happy to show me how they could do it. 🙂 It’s a whole different feel when you have to hunt for your own holds and they aren’t marked. Hope you have a great weekend, Ab!

What a beautiful and inspiring week Wynne. And learning to climb at the same place you did is special. Hope Cooper has recovered. Doggie hotels are exhaustingly fun.

What a lovely comment. Thanks, Alegria! It was really fun to climb with them at the same place. Cooper seems to be fine now that he’s been able to sleep at home. I think the other dogs kept him awake! Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂 ❤

Your family has some of the best weekend escapes (as I type from the lake house). Rock climbing and horseback riding on the weekend! WOW. Learning to take the stairs early in life is important. Enjoy this weekend’s adventure. Peace.

Oh, I hope you enjoy the weekend at the lake. We also floated “Icicle Creek” when we were there (but didn’t take any pictures for obvious reasons). We learned that sometimes things live up to their names. 🙂 Thanks for being a builder of stairs, Clay!

Uh-oh, mountaineers in the making. The place where you learned. That had to be cool for you. And I love the back-to-back horseback riding and skateboard pics. That is so cool. I want your kids swagger and poise. Damn! I know nothing about horses. I’ve been on one only a couple of times in my life. But when I win the Powerball . . . I’m buying a horse farm and letting people come and ride horses whenever they want. Sounds like a fun retirement. Don’t you think?

That sounds like a great retirement plan, Brian! We’ll be right over! I don’t know much about them and every time I get off one I’m happy to be walking on my own two feet. But they are magnificent creatures!

looks like the kids had a great time, Wynne; we have a saying: he looks too pooped to pop; bit of a funny one but I’m good for the sign of the day: I love stairs; I take then wherever they are: they are part of my fitness programme: gotta stay fit to climb that stairway to heaven 🙂

There is so much to love in this post, Wynne! The photos that express wonderful family time, the rock climbing, the sign at the end. And tired Cooper, adorable! Copper used to feel the same. He had so much fun at doggie daycare playing with his furry friends. And your kids are so cute, and you are such a great mom! 🥰

Funny – we didn’t spend much time in town. We did go to the store and get some Bavarian bananas — which probably came from the very same source all of our other bananas came from! 🙂

Thanks, Edward! I was so glad we could climb there too. For all the rock climbing we’ve done in the gym, I’ve never taken them outdoors so it was fun to take it to that level!
