Photos of the Week: September 6

When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen.” – A.A. Milne

We visited our local zoo this past weekend. Here’s Fritz the jaguar and the tallest giraffe is named Dave. Who’s in charge of naming? 🙂

Some look alike poses. I think Miss O has more style but the dinosaur has more teeth.

Mr. D has been interesting in learning how to cook. Here he is making tea and pancakes. Two very useful skills in my book.

The sign of the week has one of my favorite quotes (from Henry Ford, I believe). And the second photo is of Cooper watching a robotic dog. Like all of us when it comes to AI, he’s wondering if the same greeting rituals apply.

  1. What a fabulous collection of photos this week. My son learned to cook at a young age. Later he was a single dad to two young daughters, and was very thankful that he could cook. That is one of my favourite quotes as well.

    1. Good point, Deb. Funny thing – they were walking it up the middle of the street. Maybe it’s hard to keep it on sidewalks? But I had a lovely conversation with the owner. Apparently that robot can pick up trash. Not sure how but it sounded promising.

  2. Looks like a fun week at the zoo and some cooking lessons too. Cooper is pondering, just as we all are. The sign of the week says it all, and relates well to AI also. What a smart boy. Have a fabulous weekend Wynne! 💕

  3. tea and pancakes will get us through most anything. survival skills 101 and should be a t-shirt. the animals must have been named after people at the zoo. love the kids imitating the zoo animals or is it the other way around?

  5. I love that Mr. D is learning to cook. It is a wonderful skill to learn at an early age…. my daughter loves to cook, and is learning the importance of cleaning as you go… it’s taken a while to develop and she’s 22 going on 23! I loved visiting the zoo with my kids, it was always great time and the photo of Miss O is delightful. Maybe I can coax my principal to let me take over the sign duties? That would be a great quote have out there. Believe!

  7. I love it when the kids learn to cook! We get to experience their creations, in the beginning they might not be so good, but thankfully they improve with practice!

  8. Love your zoo photos, Wynne. Looks like you have a really nice one in your neck of the woods! And the poses. 🙂 Tell Mr D that a good cup of tea is worth its weight in gold, and he’s well on his way to keeping some lucky woman happy with breakfast in bed some day. Well, maybe not that exact wording… *wink*
