“When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen.” – A.A. Milne

We visited our local zoo this past weekend. Here’s Fritz the jaguar and the tallest giraffe is named Dave. Who’s in charge of naming? 🙂

Some look alike poses. I think Miss O has more style but the dinosaur has more teeth.

Mr. D has been interesting in learning how to cook. Here he is making tea and pancakes. Two very useful skills in my book.

The sign of the week has one of my favorite quotes (from Henry Ford, I believe). And the second photo is of Cooper watching a robotic dog. Like all of us when it comes to AI, he’s wondering if the same greeting rituals apply.
(all photos are mine)
Miss O and Mr. D look gorgeous always. Wonderful adventure in the local zoo, Wynne. And all the best for Mr.D’s cooking.

What a fabulous collection of photos this week. My son learned to cook at a young age. Later he was a single dad to two young daughters, and was very thankful that he could cook. That is one of my favourite quotes as well.

great batch of photos, Wynne: the pick for me is not the sign but Miss O’s uncannily exact imitation of the chimp — and oh, that robotic dog —

Love the leopard shot; it looks like it’s in the wild. How on-theme that Mr. D’s pancake batter looks like an animal footprint. And poor Cooper–where do you sniff?

I can honestly say that I never expected to see a robotic dog walking down your street! Hope it’s owner didn’t misplace it 🙂

Good point, Deb. Funny thing – they were walking it up the middle of the street. Maybe it’s hard to keep it on sidewalks? But I had a lovely conversation with the owner. Apparently that robot can pick up trash. Not sure how but it sounded promising.

Bravo to Mr D for wanting to learn to cook! And bravo to Cooper for realizing that this strange creature is not a real dog!! 😳😂

Yes, isn’t the cooking fun? Thanks, Jane!

Looks like a fun week at the zoo and some cooking lessons too. Cooper is pondering, just as we all are. The sign of the week says it all, and relates well to AI also. What a smart boy. Have a fabulous weekend Wynne! 💕

Good question, Todd. I think that was a happy accident but he learned those little ones are harder to flip.

Ha! I wonder the same thing about who names the animals at the zoo. Dunn Lumber often has a great sign. Thanks for sharing.

I talk with the docents when I can. Dave the giraffe came from Chicago so I think the name came with him. So funny! Thanks, MSW!

tea and pancakes will get us through most anything. survival skills 101 and should be a t-shirt. the animals must have been named after people at the zoo. love the kids imitating the zoo animals or is it the other way around?

A tea and pancake t-shirt. Great idea, Beth! I don’t know who is imitating who but we always have fun at the zoo and hope the animals feel the same!

All of these pictures are great! I’ve never seen a robotic dog. Wonder what the price tag on that baby is…. look @ you teaching the kids how to know their way around in the kitchen @ this age.I love it!

That’s a great question about the robotic dog. The owner told me that it can pick up trash so it seems like it’s an experiment. Thanks, Doug!

I love that Mr. D is learning to cook. It is a wonderful skill to learn at an early age…. my daughter loves to cook, and is learning the importance of cleaning as you go… it’s taken a while to develop and she’s 22 going on 23! I loved visiting the zoo with my kids, it was always great time and the photo of Miss O is delightful. Maybe I can coax my principal to let me take over the sign duties? That would be a great quote have out there. Believe!

Love your zoo photos, Wynne. Looks like you have a really nice one in your neck of the woods! And the poses. 🙂 Tell Mr D that a good cup of tea is worth its weight in gold, and he’s well on his way to keeping some lucky woman happy with breakfast in bed some day. Well, maybe not that exact wording… *wink*
