Photos of the Week: June 21

Do or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda

I promise this post is going full circle from quote to sign of the week.

Mr D had his last Little League game this week. We enjoyed the season so much we stepped up the play at home.

Cooper turned two. He doubled down on stealing stuff for his birthday to make sure we didn’t think he’d grown out of it.

Miss O and Cooper and the cat all looking down from their perches.

We visited Lucas Films’`offices this week and enjoyed the Yoda statue bringing the quote of this post and sign of the week together.

  3. What a great week you had and love the full circle from the quote to the sign. Youโ€™ll have to share more about your Lucas office trip!

Happy birthday to Cooper and happy end of the school year to the kids! ๐Ÿ’• We have 5 more days to go. So exciting!

    1. You are so on top of it, Ab! Yes, Wednesday was our last day of school and it was bittersweet. We worked hard to get there and then it was sad to have the year be over!

We are in SF and went by the Lucas offices and got to see the original R2D2 and Darth Vader costume. I think we might even have more pictures to share next week.

I hope your last week before summer break is a good one! Sending a lot of good summer vibes to you all! โค

  4. It looks like you all had a grand week welcoming summer. Iโ€™m surprised that it was Mr. Dโ€™s last Little League game; I thought baseball was the game of summer.

  5. Though Mr. D’s season is over and he probably cheers on the Mariners, he might enjoy some of the highlights of Pete Crow-Arnstrong on YouTube. He is a showman.

    1. Right – does Yoda ever go out of style? And you are right on about Cooper – he is an overgrown pup. Wisdom and age don’t always go together – sometimes age comes alone. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Dogs and kids AND a great sign. Dunn Lumber has done it again! I always look forward to this post – it fills me with joy and spurs me to be better and this morning a little more creative. Enjoy your weekend and keep making those days count.

    1. I love your sign of the week, Clay! You’re right – it’s so fun to spur one another along! Hope you have a great week before you leave for Europe. Wuhoo!

  7. There’s something about Cooper and Simone chillin’ together that steals the show this week – and that’s a hard thing to do! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅฐ (And holy cow…how did the little furball – baby Coop – become a two-year old?)

    1. Right? How has it been two years? It’s funny to have watched Cooper and the cat grow closer over that time. Kinda sweet – so I love that you noticed that! Thanks, my dear friend! โค

  8. Miss O looked pretty intense when she was at bat!. And I love everyone looking down from their perches. Cooper and the cat (sounds like a TV show from the 80s) obviously are comfortable together. As always I love seeing your pics! Have a great week.

  9. I love this week’s batch, it seems not so very long ago when Cooper came home to you guys. Climbing trees, a great summer activity when young!

  10. I canโ€™t tell if Miss O looks super determined or super mad at bat๐Ÿ˜ Great pics! And of course, I love the Yoda quote, even though I have grown to disagree with it๐Ÿ˜

    1. Ah, Todd. I’m totally with you. I share some misgivings with the Yoda quote. I’ve come to think that in his brevity, the nuances of trying are lost. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am a champion try-er and I learn even when I “do not.” Is that where your disagreement lies too?

      1. Yes. I used to totally agree with Yoda, but then as I got older, I started thinking that even though results can be โ€œdo or do not- itโ€™s in the trying that the real learning and growth come, regardless of the result. The result may still be of ultimate importance, but that doesnโ€™t negate the benefits of the effort.

But I still love yoda- the master of Jedi masters! ๐Ÿคฉ

    1. Never ending – well put, Cindy! We are in your neck of the woods this week and I’ve been so buffeted by family activities I haven’t even reached out to you. Maybe next time! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Wow, youโ€™ve got some serious baseball players! They both look so focused. Happy Birthday to Cooper. I can tell from his eyes that it was an emotional day for him. He needed a comfort sock. ๐Ÿ˜†
