Photos of the Week: June 7

Choose the bigger life.” – Gretchen Rubin

There was some sentiment that the animals in our household hadn’t been featured enough in photos of the week recently. So here’s Cooper, caught in the act of stealing a sock puppet. And Simone the cat, in one of her less modest moments.

Mr. D is routing water through the new gap in his front teeth. And Miss O who can make hanging out while tilted sideways look natural.

The curiosity of an ant hole and the sign of the week which reminds me to focus on the right things!

  1. You can never have too many photos of your pets and kids!! Cooper with the sock puppet is so sweet. Our Dot steals hubby’s socks when he’s not home. It’s a comfort thing. I let her think I don’t see her taking them.

    1. I’m with Brian! Some kids just find playing in the dirt far more preferable to playing baseball-that included my daughter during her one season career as a softball player😂

      1. That’s funny! The coach keeps trying to get them to stand up so they don’t get bonked on the head with a ball. One thing’s for sure – the dirt is always entertaining and the ball only comes by sometimes. 🙂

  2. Aunt holes are informative. I had one such aunt who claimed to be human. I had my doubts. Maybe the kids found her.

  3. Lovely photos, Wynne. Summer is in full swing in your household. Did I see correctly or is it just the glint of the sun, but Mr D has pink hair?

Enjoy the final week of school ahead. We’re counting down with great excitement over here!

    1. You’ve got a good eye, Ab! He got a little red hair chalk at his last haircut.

Yes, the end of school is coming fast. We go to the next Wednesday (the 18th) but still it seems like there is something fun every day!

    1. That gas station always has high prices – like 50 cents more than other places. I have no idea why anyone pays it but I guess it works for them! Thanks, Elizabeth!

  4. In elementary school, Eagle would call a congregation of ants on the sidewalk an “ant party”. I always liked that idea. Looks like summer fun is beginning. Sock puppet ahoy, Cooper’s ready to join in the fun. Sign wisdom breeds new mantra, “purpose not perfection.” Repeat until it’s part of my mitochondria…

  5. Your photos make me happy. THIS is what’s really important in our world. Children playing, dogs stealing (socks haha) and cats showing us that it’s okay to just relaxxxxxxxxxxxx.

  6. Hehe, focusing on the ants! As adults we just overlook and walk past the things that used to fascinate us. Maybe if we took a little more time to observe the small things we would find more joy!

  7. Awesome! I think Cooper is just trying to help keep the house organized, just look at that innocent face. 😂 Something that caught my eye this time is that it seems like someone’s rebellious side is coming out. Is Mr. D. trying out a new hairstyle?

    1. I’m chortling about Cooper keeping the house organized. In that case, he should try keeping his fur to himself. 🙂

You’ve got a good eye, Edward. Mr. D got some red hair chalk when he got a recent haircut. It washed out but was fun while it lasted.

      1. 😂 I can totally relate to that. We have a precious dog who leaves his awesome hair everywhere. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Luckily, our Roombas—“Gloria” and “Fifi”—take care of most of it.
Cool! Mr. D. was rockin’ it with the red hair.
