“The soul of an animal is as delicate as yours…Treat it with kindness and love; It deserves it as much as you do.” – Lights of Venus

Seeing the eye of the goat, the hide of a rhino, the preening of a flamingo, and the hair of a lion made for a great trip to the zoo.

Of course, my own wild creatures showed off their untamed side at the zoo. In the first picture, Miss O is pointing out a giraffe that shares her name.

We also met a puppy down at the local bar and grill. It was so tired from a full day of socialization that it could barely keep its eyes open. Cooper is going full beam with his own cuteness to try to keep up with the puppy.

The kids found a baby snail to put in with Gary the snail. It’s starting to look like spring in our neck of the woods. I hope they don’t think they are going to bring in every snail they find outside!

Mr. D learning how to fly a drone and the sign of the week. I’m trying to think of some drone/done joke to make but I can’t get one to land. I wonder what happens to the last minute when we spring forward into daylight savings time?
Hope you all have a great week!
Keep away from the water and you won’t drone yourself.

Kids and zoos make such a great combo. I love these pictures. Imagine having a giraffe with the same name as you. Now that would be amazing!!

For just a moment, before I started reading, I thought the panoramic flamingo shot was of Midwest Mark P’s backyard… 😉

Thank you for the smiles, Wynne, as always. Great photos, all around. Miss O sure is growing into her beauty! And, um, cute as he is, I think Cooper may be drawing hugely on the cuteness of Mr. D in this photo. Or, maybe they are co-conspirators in cuteness. Anyway, it will be our secret. Shh. 🙂

Oh…so many winners in this batch….stiff competition for which pic generated the biggest smile. Today…I’ll give a nod to Mr. D. and Cooper appearing from underneath the blanket. A photo ripe for captioning…so many ideas. 🥰💕🥰

I love that picture too. They seem to be well aware of their cuteness. 🙂

Wynne: I love these photos and captions: uplifting and heartwarming; I know what it’s like after a full day of socialization 🙂 I love that Lights of Venus quote and your opening sentence — delightful and that quote outside Dunn Lumber !!!!

Love seeing the daffodils. We’re at least six weeks away from seeing them here. Everything is still covered in snow. But I know the snowdrops are there—patiently waiting.

Six weeks? Wow, you’re right – this time of year requires patience. Thanks, Michelle!

I always love seeing g photos of your week with the kids, always action packed! I guess you’re starting a snail habitat now! 😉

You said it, Tamara. Technically it’s a snail and worm habitat since they put two worms in there but we haven’t see them since! 🙂

Cute! Well, the soil will be great for the garden when they eventually want to release the critters to the wild! 😉

Why are drone pilots considered to be arrogant?
Because they look down on people. 😊

I loved going to Woodland Park Zoo as a child and throughout UW days. I enjoy all your photos, especially the flamingos. I got a picture of Red on my flamingo which will be on my post Monday — along with a shout out to you and my other blogger/author friends.

I am so impressed that Mr D can fly a drone. I would not trust myself with one of them!
And those flamingos are so so beautiful. What a feast for the eyes!

I’m itching to get my drone up in the air too! But it’s been windy lately, and first-timer that I am, I would prefer to wait for a calm day.
That flock of flamingos just tugs at my heart!

Did you see Deb’s comment that she wondered if it was your yard? Ah yes, we have gotten to know each other. 🙂 A calm day is a good idea. Our drone is pretty basic – but still it takes quite a lot to figure out how to fly it!

In Deb’s defense, it very well could have been my yard!

Awesome pictures, Wynne. You know, that’s a great question, and ChatGPT probably knows the answer. Here is the response I got:
“When we spring forward for daylight savings time, we essentially lose one hour. The clocks are set forward by one hour, usually at 2:00 AM, which becomes 3:00 AM.
As a result, the last minute of the hour from 1:59 AM to 2:00 AM never happens. In essence, that minute is skipped, and the time jumps directly from 1:59 AM to 3:00 AM. The purpose of this shift is to extend daylight in the evening, allowing for more daylight during the warmer months.”
Interesting, right?

I absolutely love this answer, Edward! Okay – now we know!!
