“Compliment people wherever you go. Praise every single thing you see. Be a ray of sunshine to everyone you meet.” – Rhonda Byrne

The annual pumpkin farm trek. Funny thing about going to this place once a year – all of a sudden it’s so noticeable how much we’ve grown.

The pumpkin farm had some very cute animals. No, I don’t believe the highland cow intended to stick her tongue out at us.

Some adorable chicks to hold.

An inflatable pillow to jump on.

Mr. D wanted a drum set so we improvised…and then thankfully put everything back away.
The second picture is near and dear to my heart. Every once in a while, there’s a special quality of light that always makes me feel as if my dearly departed are near. In this case, Mr. D was helping me seal the tiles that my dad helped me install in my driveway. I turned to look and there was a bright spot of light illuminating Mr. D’s face. It felt like a kiss on the head from my dad.
Far-fetched? Maybe. Provable. Not at all. Worth believing? My heart says so.

The heart (on my salad) and the sign of the week.
Winners…heart-stealers…every single pic. Miss O’s exuberant straddle jump…and Mr. D in his white tank top, sealing grout and capturing a head smooch from the great beyond. Ahhh. You had a good week, mama! 🥰🥰🥰

A precious ‘Aha’ moment from above comforting your soul, knowing Christians never say “Goodbye”, just “Later”.

Aha moment — well said, Fred. And you note about “later” is so good! Thanks, my friend!

Lovely photos from your visit to the pumpkin farm and patch! Those are big hefty pumpkins! We got our last night from the supermarket. 😆
The kids on the head moment is so touching. I definitely agree it was a wink from above. 💕

That photo and story of sealing the tiles touched something in me, too. Probably (very much) related to an experience I had just earlier before reading this.
The departed never really leave, as long as they remain in our thoughts and hearts.

Beautiful photo of your son helping you seal the tiles in your driveway. I remember the tiles and your father from your book.

A tractor ride in a pumpkin patch, an adorable cow licking its chops (but not as adorable your two precious chickadee’s), and a ray of sunshine smiling on Mr. D—I’ve been trying to dream up a great way to communicate with loved ones once I’m not here any longer, and what better than a ray of sunshine?☀️🌞

I can just tell from looking at them and from the brief conversation I had with them when we ZOOMED what nice kids you’ve raised, Wynne. Miss O is going through a growth spurt. Great idea with Mr. D’s drum set. He really has the look of a drummer. Skateboards and drums—the girls are going to go nuts.

Yay for the pumpkin farm visit! I had fun on those outings, even though the farm was crowded with lots of other families. And that’s a wonderful moment about Mr. D helping with the tiles, and the sunlight as a kiss from your dad. 🌞

The pumpkin farms are a great fall tradition, aren’t they? It seems most families have great memories of them! Thank you, Dave!

Love the pumpkin patch pictures. And those chicks are adorable. Perhaps Mr. D’s musical talent lies with the drums rather than the guitars. When I was in Chicago over the weekend, I saw a group of bucket boys (although they were men not boys) making incredible rhythms with upside down pails!

When my kids were little, our favorite tradition was the Pumpkin Festival in Yacolt. It was so much fun: colorful foliage in the countryside, hay rides through the pumpkin patch, hot apple cider, farm animals. Broke my heart a little when they outgrew that!

Great but sad sign of the week. The top quote I ascribe to as well, but not as completely as your quoter suggests I should. Hmm. A couple of these I’ve already commented on over at Insta, which feels a bit like cheating! Ah well. Love the makeshift drum kit. Brilliant!
