“We are the windows through which our children first see the world. Let us be conscious of the view. ” – Katrina Kenison

We enjoyed great views when riding bikes in West Seattle.

West Seattle has some funky old houses that have been there for generations. Kinda fun to see these little bungalows triumphantly holding their ground between the new high rises that are popping up along the waterfront.

Mr. D shows that it doesn’t take many times hanging out at the skate park to pick up some tricks and start looking like a skater dude. But Miss O looks like a dancer wherever she goes.

Cooper has a new friend. Riffing off the sign of the week — I lost my dog because I left the water running.
I had the good fortune to stop in to Dunn Lumber this week to get a few pieces of wood. I complimented them on their signs.
Ooh. Twin Coopers. Double trouble! I had to think about that sign for a minute. 😂 Have a terrific weekend, Wynne!

Lol, me too! Had to read it a couple of times! I appreciate Wynne’s riff off it! 😂😆

Always such a fun view from Alki! That flower house was featured on the news not long ago if I remember correctly. Kudos to the owners for all the work they put in. Which one is Coop? He’s found his doppelganger I think 🙂

I was wondering what that flower house looked like in winter. Do you have any idea? Not sure I venture over there very often when it’s blustery. But wow – it is amazing!
Coop’s new friend is named Herbie and he’s the one wearing the harness. They’re pretty cute together!

Nope, no idea. The news story was related to something going on West Seattle/Alki area from earlier summer so the house was all decked out in floral already! Perhaps they are seasonal decorators like your friendly skeleton house- I imagine that would be overwhelming 🙂

It really didn’t take Mr D long to master “the look”, did it?! And I hope that forlorn little bungalow owner holds out for a very, very good price from some developer!!

Those are some great photos by the water. And that little bungalow among the high rises brought to mind the movie, Up.
Mr. D looks like he’s in his zone.
Miss O – you can’t camouflage the dancer with roller skates, but it’s cute!

Up! Of course – that’s the perfect association. Thanks for the great comment, my friend!

Great pics, Wynne. The little bungalow reminds me of the animated movie ‘Up!’ Fun, and I’ve lost the number of times viewed.

When I complimented the guy at Dunn Lumber he said that it was courtesy of his manager so I’m guessing they get quite a few comments. Thanks, Beth!

Love the views you share with your kids and all of us! A fabulous way to see the world, day by day, one sight at a time. You’re the best Wynne. Hope your dog didn’t wonder too far. Hugs, C

I imagine you felt similarly when you did your Arches post — but it’s fun to put these posts together to be reminded of where we’ve been! 🙂

Wonderful view of Seattle and the crew, as always. The kids are growing in experience and knowledge, and the evidence is visible.

Happiness is . . . if only we could some freeze frame our children at this age for a while Wynne . . . growing up is overrated 😊

You are so right, Fred! And funny how impossible it is to tell them that growing up is overrated! So I just try to enjoy all these moments!

Amen Wynne! Relish those precious moments and cache them away in memories to be cherished later when they’ve grown and gone.

Ha – I’m laughing, Pete! Not going to happen. I’m all about slow and steady because I’m an endurance person. 🙂 Happy weekend, my friend!
