Photos of the Week: September 28

Once you have tasted the taste of sky, you will forever look up.” – Leonardo da Vinci

September in Seattle is so typically delightful. So we were outside a lot this week like for this Saturday morning bike ride.

My brother learned to sail at 6-years-old in the Philippines and has never stopped loving being out on the water. Miss O and Mr. D were delighted to get their hands on the tiller.

More fun in the water.

Cooper cannot believe these two bunnies don’t want to hang out with him. Fortunately, Miss O is a much more willing friend!

The cat has more of an arm’s length idea of snuggling.

Reaching for the sky. Because as the sign of the week implies, there’s no time to waste!

  1. I always enjoy this post. The photos of your family learning and growing and just being outside always makes me smile. The sign reminds me there are so many other things that suck up time but being outside is a gift. Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Such delightful photos, Wynne, of the kids, you and furry friends!

Mr D has the most stylish shades!

Where did your brother learn to sail in the Philippines? I imagine what an experience that must’ve been.

    Enjoy your weekend together!

    1. So funny you asked that because I was going to put it in but thought it might only have meaning to you. He learned in Manila Bay. There’s a funny story about him taking my dad for a sail shortly after he learned. My dad leaned back to relax while his son sailed him around — and tipped the boat over. 🙂

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  3. Mount Rainier looks amazing! I enjoy your Saturday photos to get a glimpse into your Seattle lifestyle. Septembers are the best up there. We had great weather and it heated up again. It was 83 degrees for our 5:30 a.m. walk today!

  4. I can conclude one of three things from the photo of Miss O.:

    1. There’s a skateboard just out of the frame of the shot.
    2. She decided to go rock climbing in an unconventional place.
    3. She’s freakin’ FLYING!

    I really hope it’s #3, even though it’s probably just #1.

  5. Great photos! Not sure about that quote, it’s funny, but now I have psychological indigestion!
