“Music in the soul can be heard by the universe.” – Lao Tzu

Biking through a rainy summer afternoon. Soaked but still delighted by the freedom on two wheels!

Enjoying more of Miss O’s birthday celebrations.

Cooper has the Force all wrong. And apparently, light saber on the tongue makes a dog thirsty!

Holding bunnies and rope climbing. Both require strong, steady hands. I just made that up but it sounded like a theme.

Back to school soda display and the sign of the week.
And one note about the featured photo. I get up at 5:30am and for most of the summer, the sun in Seattle is already up. I’m so grateful to be seeing sunrises again. It’s something that Vicki and I talk about on next week’s Sharing the Heart of the Matter podcast. Stay tuned…and please subscribe!
Very cool getting the kids to climb a rope. In the Chicago Public Schools, that opportunity didn’t happen until high school. We were given no instruction. I failed at it a few times and then realized the trick was not to pause or think about it, but just keep going. A lesson that can be applied widely. You would known, Wynne. Thanks.

Ah, a great lesson! You’re right – that has wide application. Thanks, Dr. Stein.

I rarely see the sunrise. I’m up early enough but there isn’t really a good vantage point for viewing near here. When I was on Vancouver Island last summer, I made a point of getting up to watch the sunrise. It inspired me to write my very first poem.

Oh, I remember that poem. Yes, it’s inspirational for sure!

Oh…that sunrise. A beauty! Just like all of the fun “week that was” pics with the kids…and Cooper…and a bunny.
Xo! 🥰

The pic of three of you in the rain. Instead of singing in the rain, the updated version of the song must be biking in the rain! Can’t wait to see your guys imitation of Gene Kelly dancing in a downpour!!!!🤣🤣🤣😎

What a beautiful sunrise. More family fun for the last week of summer! I have to admit that it bothers me that these large displays of pop are put out to entice kids. Sugar, sugar, sugar.

What an interesting comment, Jane! I only know about elementary kids but none that I know even think of soda as an option.

That’s very good to hear. I see people in the grocery store who have shopping carts filled with bottles of soda. It bothers me that a quart of soda is a fraction of the cost of a quart of milk.

Love the rope climbing! I’ve never been able to do that, so I envy those who can. And Cooper is as charming as ever. 😊

Ah such a lovely week and now back to school. Doesn’t mean the fun ends though, I remind myself. And I like your strong hands theme. The sign or the week is also a great reminder. Have a super week ahead Wynne, with new schedules and waking up early sunrises. 💕

Thank you, Rebecca! We were having a great time cycling in the rain. It’s better when it’s not cold and rainy.

I really look forward to your photos from the week post! Especially your sign. If there is ever a sign I’ve seen which I need to inscribe somewhere for future reference, that ONE is in the top ten. I am back in school with a new crop of kiddos, and another from last year, and that is a good thing. Enjoy your sunrises, they’re special.

What a fun week. Couldn’t help but notice the gas price above the sign of the week. We’re at $2.95 here. I really like the sunrise photo. Hopefully you get to see many more sunrises.

Oh, thank you for the beautiful wish about sunrises, Rose. That hit me in the heart this morning.
$2.95 – that is amazing! Seattle, King County, and the state of Washington adds tax to our gas prices to help fund mass transit.

Cooper is still a Padawan. He’ll get it right eventually. I think Mr. D is trying to go for the S-Wrap method—almost there. I struggled (and I think I’m still struggling) with rope climbing. He’s definitely doing a lot better than I was at his age. So 👍.
