Photos of the Week: March 16

“Sometimes you have to travel a long way to find what is near.” – Paul Coehlo

There were a few moments during our recent trip to New Orleans where I felt like we flew 2,086 miles just to spend all our time in the indoor swimming pool. If it wasn’t for the company meeting, I could have just driven 2 miles to check into a local hotel. Except we would have missed…

Seeing the Mississippi River.

Wandering the streets of New Orleans (no, not Bourbon street) in good weather and stormy weather.

Petting the sting rays at the Audobon Aquarium in New Orleans.

And coming home to sweet Cooper and Seattle spring.

Home, where the soda displays celebrate the Seattle Mariners and the gas station signs always amuse…

  1. Whoever takes care of the sign always has something worthwhile to say. Thanks, Wynne. Glad you all had a fine time.

  2. This is a really great quote! “Sometimes you have to travel a long way to find what is near.” Bears out in experience as well. Love the pruning outfit! Very creative use of power creatures (sharks).

  3. Looks like such a precious week. I agree with you that sometimes we go so far just to spend time in a pool with our kids. 😆 But you end up getting so much more out of it.

The pineapple swimshirt on Miss O is very cute. My favourite shirt of T’s is a pineapple one too.

Too bad Spring Break can’t be longer. But we’re now at the final stretch to summer break!

    1. Somehow I think you might have done the “long way to be in the pool” thing just this week. 🙂 You’re right – we get a lot out of it. Here’s to vacations and pineapples!

  4. Wynne, I love that soda display. Clever way to honor the home team…and those Mariners might be headed for a great year this season. Some of those gas station messages are so spot-on, aren’t they? I like those sting rays…as long as they are on the other side of the glass of course!
