Photos of the Week: January 6th

The only thing an old man can tell a young man is that it goes fast, real fast, and if you’re not careful it’s too late. Of course, the young man will never understand this truth.” – Norm MacDonald

Cooper! 20 weeks ago the stuffed polar bear was 1/3 bigger than Cooper. 16 weeks ago, Cooper drew even. And now, Cooper is at least 1/3 bigger than the bear. No wonder every time I take him to the vet she looks at him, smiles and says, “He’s going to be big.

And to make sure he stays on track, Cooper is willing to sleep right outside the closet where his food is kept. As close as possible…

Rock climbing and hiking, including find a bus in the woods – but not one that could carry us out of there.

Delivering some neighborhood cheer.

For anyone who giggled at my story about the Christmas present laughter

The heart and the sign of the week. May you all have a whole (not fractional) great week ahead!

  1. The photo of Miss O, so life-affirming in her stride — is wonderful. And Norm McDonald’s offers a truth about all of the wisdom we can grasp only by living, aging, and living-through. Thanks so very much for this, Wynne.

  2. Okay, I’m torn. It’s a toss-up between the old ball-on-the-head trick. Ms. O and Cooper on the run, and the sign (my kind of math!). I was also struck by the price of gas. Eeks! I love the memories that your children will take with them for life!

    1. Remember the story about how A&W tried to compete with McDonald’s Quarter Pounder by selling a cheaper 1/3 pound burger that got higher average ratings in taste tests? It failed because too many people believed 1/3 pound was smaller than the Quarter Pounder…

  3. Cooper waiting outside the food pantry is too funny! My parent’s 25-pound cat does the same. Also, the ball-throwing hat is just as hilarious as I imagined and I love Mr’s D’s “not sure what to think about this face”.

  4. I love that Cooper hangs out outside the door where his food is stored. Clever boy.
And the kids with their neighborhood cheer rounded out the “whole” wonderful week!
The quote at the top definitely pulled it all together perfectly! Lovely post Wynne.

  5. I can really relate to your Cooper story. Wynne. We got a new kitten in early October. She was just 2 months old, and could fit in a kid’s size shoe box and have room left over. Three months later, she still tries to get in, but not happening! And she’s eating us out of house and home. Lol Lovely photos, and as always, thanks.
