“There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” – Leonard Cohen

I love the light this time of year!

From the top left:
Camping under the light of full moon
the roundabout
a doggie playdate as wild as the roundabout
Cooper reminding us he won’t be a baby for much longer
and fun putting up Halloween decorations.

The sign of the week comes from a third grade classroom open house. It’s taken me 50 years to learn this lesson the hard way. I guess I should have paid more attention in class when I was in third grade!

And coming full circle from the top of the post – the heart of the week is a patch of sunlight through the trees on the sidewalk.
The shadows say the kids are fast-growing (not to mention the lady in the middle), but I’m a little worried about Mr. D and his conversation with the purple guy!

Hee, hee! Yes, the purple guy needs a little consultation that Mr D is happy to provide! 🙂

That third grade sign is brilliant. Don’t we all wish we’d learned that lesson sooner, Wynne?
And I concur that Mini Cooper is growing up. I feel like you’ll need to drop the “Mini” very soon.
Have a fabulous weekend.

Not just me that took a long time to understand that about success? Whew!
And yes, you’re right – he’s getting to be Maxi Cooper awfully quickly!
Happy weekend, Michelle!

What a great week Wynne! You aren’t alone in wondering why that success message didn’t hit home waaaaay back in 3rd grade- 🙂 I’m shocked at Coopers face in that picture- where did the puppy face go? He’s suddenly old enough to shave and drive himself 😉

OMG…I’m howling…Cooper being old enough to shave and drive. Love it, Deb…and I agree! 😎

I’m howling at your comment, Deb! Yep, he’s old enough…so funny!
I guess the 3rd grade message comes with a little practice – in figuring it out!! 🙂
Now we have to get together before Cooper gets any bigger or you will have missed the puppy stage altogether. When you come home from Colorado? 🙂

I just forget how quickly they grow yet I’m sure he still has a lot of puppy in him 😉 Yes, let’s get together when I return for a ‘meet Cooper’ play date 🙂

Fun photos… especially liked the really long shadows and the squiggly line pointing to success. I wish that sign had been in my third-grade classroom — and all my other classrooms! At some point, the message would’ve sunk in that way 🙂

I’m chuckling in appreciation, Dave. Yes, repetition would have helped me to understand as well – and I guess life has taught me that as well. 🙂

Fab photos…thank you, Wynne. Love them all…but as Deb said, the latest pic of Cooper is hilarious. He’s a big boy…all 30 pounds of him — is that right? Wowza. 🥰

30 lbs on the nose. You’re good, aunt Vicki. You’re tracking us through all our growth. 🙂 ❤ ❤

I love that image they shared with the grade 3 class. It’s a great message to share with anyone regardless of their age and a particular good one to teach kids at a young age.
The Cohen quote is a classic and a good one to reminds ourselves of every day.
Enjoy your long weekend together. It’s thanksgiving for us over here.

Hola. No, dear Wynne. I have continued walking and now I have walked approximately 750 km. I am in Finesterre after Santiago and next walk is 28 km away to Muxia and after that I want to do another 200 km ( if my body takes it ) before I return home in a short time.

I love that merry-go-round picture–it just hollers YES! to life! And I laughed at the quote and your take to it. Where I sit: 40ish years in; learning, still very much-in flight. Glad for the happy reminder this is life. 🙂
