Photos of the Week: August 26

I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” – Andy Bernard

Someone’s growing up…and by that, I don’t just mean the dog.

Clockwise from top left:

I suspect that climbing route might be the closest experience my kids have of a telephone handset.

Miss O and Mr D vying for honorary Seattle ambassador status.

It didn’t take long for Mr. D to get someone to ride on the back of his motorcycle.

Mr. D puts the service in service station.

And speaking of service, the bottom left shows a special forces soldier doing mailbox reconnaissance.

Heart of the week is an air pocket in a baguette. And the sign of the week is courtesy of my tea bag. It feels like the message might be a koan. My head isn’t quite sure what to do with it but my heart feels like it’s true.

  1. The baguette is telling you to eat your heart out, Wynne!

The photos of the kids and Cooper are beyond precious. You all look like you’re having such a blast.

Enjoy these final moments of summer!

  2. I LOVE the ‘special forces’ mailbox mission…complete with precious Bun-Bun in tow. They’re all so darn cute…Mr. D, Miss O…sweet Cooper (I love that puppy fuzz, btw). I’m with Deb – smiles galore on my face. 🥰

  3. I could write a novel on everything I love about this, but I’m practicing leaving briefer comments (cough), so …

That teabag message! That walloped me all over, in only the best way! I could’ve gone days without words for the exact walloping, but you already wrote them just below the pic: “My head isn’t quite sure what to do with it but my heart feels like it’s true.”

    1. Hee, hee. I’m laughing about your briefer comments (cough). Love your comments, Deb!

The funny thing about the tea bag is that I can’t properly read the messages without my glasses on so sometimes I have to take a second look. And in this case, it was worth it! 🙂 ❤

  4. Your kids are adorable – or maybe just photogenic? No…I’m sticking with adorbs.

My head doesn’t know what to make of that sign, but at heart, it feels a bit like integration.

    1. Love how you put it, Cheryl. “Heads up, it’s today!” Yes!

Don’t they say never to work with children or animals – they always steal the show. In this case, I’m ever so thankful! 🙂 ❤ Hope you are enjoying this end to August, Cheryl!

  5. I’m sure Cooper is all kinds of trouble, but that face..just adorable. Love the picture of Mr. D working hard to clean the windshield and Miss O. holding on to her little brother 🙂..looks like it was a great week, thank you for sharing.

    1. You’re right about Cooper’s face earning him a charmed path through trouble — but that might be true for all these young beings in my life. They give me a smile and I melt… 🙂

Hope you have a great week ahead!

    1. Thanks, Ally! I was wondering how he was reaching the mailbox every day because he’s been very focused on that mission recently. Then I went out and saw it in action. Still makes me giggle. 🙂
