“Sometimes you have to travel a long way to find what is near.” – Paulo Coehlo

It was neck and neck in the Tour de Greenlake training wheels stage (thank goodness for the kindness of sisters)!

It’s all picturesque until someone slips and falls … but thankfully no one did this time!

A little work travel. I took a red eye to the East Coast which pretty much just ensured that I spent the whole next day falling asleep on mass transit, grateful for the kindness of strangers willing to wake me up. AND I got to meet the fabulous blogger (The Goddess Attainable) Libby Saylor in New York City!! So much fun!!

And one of my favorite parts of the travel is the wonderful feeling of coming home!

And the sign and the heart of the week…
NY! One of my favorite places. Glad you and Libby enjoyed it.

It’s a great place, isn’t it? But Chicago is pretty amazing too!

Love the photos of the kids on the logs. That brought back memories of a visit to Banff National Park a few years ago. My husband and daughter both slipped on the logs at Moraine Lake. They found out just how cold those glacial lakes are. LOL
Love that you visited New York. Definitely a place I must get back to one day.

That’s so funny about the cold glacial lakes. I hope you got pictures of THAT! Hilarious, Michelle! And yes, New York is wonderful. So many great places in this world.

A red-eye to anywhere is tough in the system, at least this girl’s system. And aren’t we fortunate when it DOES feel good to be home. 😊 Love that sign and that it is on a church sign.

I thought the same thing about that on a church sign. Oh, and yes, the red-eye is a tough way to go. I did it so I could put my kids to bed before I left. It worked but whew…

You and the Goddess in the same place at the same time—doesn’t get much better than that, huh?!

Exactly right – doesn’t get much better than that when we get the opportunity to meet our online friends! ❤

Welp, you had a fun week. Something a little different to visit NYC? Glad you had the opportunity to get together with another blogger. How cool is that?

It was so cool! It’s so lovely to find that people in person are actually the same as who I thought from their writing, except for even more fun because we got to have lunch! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Ally!

I’m overdue to get on a plane and go somewhere, so I especially love your photos of New York City today. The Empire State Building always reminds me of “An Affair to Remember”. Have a great weekend! Your big 4th is right around the corner. 🙂

Ah yes – An Affair to Remember. Coming from Seattle, it always reminds me of Sleepless in Seattle. But whatever the movie, it’s definitely such an iconic building! Hope you get on a plane to go somewhere soon, Susan!

Falling asleep on public transport might make you miss a connection. Looks interesting. If your profession (Work) lets you travel often, that is great. New Yorker-good writers.

Great point about the New Yorker – good writers for sure! And yes, I did almost miss my connections but thankfully was awakened in time! Thanks for the comment!

I’m with Vicki, this looks like more than a week. So glad you had great weather and had fun in NYC. Love the pic of Libby and you. Falling asleep? I would be out of sorts coming and going. Ha, ha. Yes, thank goodness for the kindness of sisters. My brothers would not have let me win. In fact, I’m pretty sure they would have beat me in the race and made fun of me for being a slowpoke. Ha, ha, I kid, it wasn’t that bad. Enjoy the weekend.

I’m laughing about your brothers. Nothing like being the youngest of three, right? A perpetual race to catch up until we get older and then realize we like being younger. Yes? 🙂 ❤

You had a very busy week, Wynne. New York is so amazing in the summer and glad you avoided the apocalyptic wildfire smoke that they had a few weeks ago!

Yes, it was busier than usual but a nice change of scenery! It was a little hazy from the smoke and there were warnings but yes, it was much better than a few weeks ago. Hope you all aren’t impacted by the smoke??

Earlier in the week, Toronto held the status of worst air quality in the world at that time. 😆 Lovely… During these times, we stay indoors or if we have to, wear an N95 mask outdoors.

Oh no!! Wow, that’s thick stuff. Glad you were able to do the rapids without masks!

Watching them walk out on that pipe in the water made me so nervous! Glad they stayed above water. And that you’re home again! Yippee!

Yeah…it was going to feel like a lot longer bike ride home if they fell…but I’m sure you know all about those high stakes parenting moments!
So glad to be home! I have to get the house ready for visitors!! Can’t wait!! ❤

“High stakes parenting”!!! I love that!
Getting the house ready for visitors sounds unnecessary, as no doubt those visitors will love you completely as you are. ❤ ❤ ❤ (One heart for each of you.)
