Photos of the Week: May 20

Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

Actually – can you burst my bubble? It’s kinda cool looking?

My Mother’s Day gifts…and the rose is nice too. 🙂

We haven’t outgrown backyard fun — but we have outgrown some of the toys.

Do you think the ducks and goslings celebrated Mother’s Day too?

I’m a little unclear on the current decoration theme for the neighborhood skeleton. Spring?

  1. Hey—who needs a bath when covered in soapy bubbles?! Love the Mother’s Day gifts (and the rose too), and as for the skeletal attire—looks like a Spring/jailhouse rock combo to me. BTW, what is that mysterious, ethereal looking display in the sky? A bubble run amuck? Great pics as usual!

    1. Spring/jailhouse rock — I love it, Julia! Don’t tell my kids that soapy bubbles count as a bath… 🙂 Happy Saturday, my luminescent friend!

  2. It’s nice to see the neighbourhood skeleton getting some colour and sun! 😆

What a wonderful week you and the kids had. I love the Mothers Day photos. And my goodness, how quickly they are outgrowing their toys!

  3. So many great moments with the kids this week- love it! I assume Miss O managed to extricate herself from the car? I think the skeleton and friends are paying tribute, and also reminding everyone in No Mow May how important pollinators are in our ecosystem given the bee in a prominent position.

  4. Wow. I love the huge bubbles. My daughters loved to blow bubbles when they were small. The day before my younger daughter turned 18, she wanted to say goodbye to childhood by doing all the fun things she did when she was a kid. Bubbles were at the top of the list.

    1. Hi Linda — I took it when I was able to sneak out for a quick walk on Mother’s Day. It’s a church that’s a few blocks from me. They hosted some homeless people in tents for a while and I guess that might have displaced the grass but these flowers are there now. Sure, you are welcome to use it. Thank you for the comment and for asking.

  5. Beautiful Wynne. I love everything. How did you get such big bubbles? They’re amazing. There’s just so much happiness in the range of photographs, I wouldn’t know where to start. Thank you for sharing.

    1. There was a professional bubble maker at the park – he had a two sticks with a rope in the shape of a triangle between them that he dipped into a bucket. They were pretty cool! Thank you, Brenda!
