“Be like a flower, survive the rain but use it to grow.” – anonymous

The temperature in the air reached a glorious 75 degrees, but the water was still only 50 degrees. Miss O and Mr D didn’t mind in their wet suits which was good because it was Mr D’s inaugural experience on the paddleboard. I think he thought he was doing quite the job paddling and didn’t realize that his sister was providing both the power and direction by slipping off and kicking.

Two days of warm weather inspired great plans for a lemonade stand. Unfortunately, spring sprinkled on our outside commerce zone but Miss O and Mr D solved it by handing out umbrellas for the customers to hold.

The views from the Capital Hill Stairs.

Spring flora and fauna in the neighborhood.

Playing with our food – or a heart and a smile. It all depends on the way you look at it, right?
Either your kids are brilliant or their mom is — maybe both. Singing and selling in the rain. You can’t keep a good family down!

I vote for both!

What a lovely comment! Stubborn is probably the most accurate explanation – but I’ll take yours as way more lyrical!

Practicing for summer and looking good! Do you remember when you didn’t care as a kid that the water was freezing?

Yes, we are all practiced up. Now let’s get the summer weather, right? It’s a good point about kids not caring about the water temps. I wonder if we just jumped right in to water that cold?

We had property at Lake Tapps which is filled from glacial supplies usually May 1st. We actually had summer weather that early when I was a kid so I lived in the water and you bet it was cold except for the first 2 or 3 feet under the surface! I could have used a wet suit 😉

That story of Miss O splashing for Mr D says it all about their bond. 💕 And I love their entrepreneurial spirit. May the rain stay away next time.
Enjoy your weekend together!

I had the same thought, Ab! How sweet of Miss O to help our and let Mr. D build the confidence of doing it all on his own. So sweet!

What a lovely commentary you have on the paddleboarding. They are pretty sweet together — most of the time.
Happy weekend, Ab!

Not fair! You know how much I love that view from the Capital Hill Stairs…you’re making it difficult to focus on a fave this morning…I love those pics…but the ‘week in review’ with the kids? So, so good…the lemonade stand, the frolicking in the water? Such joy! xo! 🥰

Week in review – love that tagline you’ve given it. Yes, all good. 🙂 ❤

What a great week. And those resourceful kids of yours, handing out umbrellas. I love it. I’m sure I know where they get that from. Lovely to have great weather. I can’t wait to get on my paddleboard, but it will be a little while here still. Have a beautiful weekend Wynne. 💕

I love that you will be out paddleboarding too. What a sweet, meditative (and slow) way to enjoy a day! ❤

It definitely is, especially when the lake is still (not very often) and you can get some yoga going on the board. I can’t wait.

This is lovely Wynne. they were obviously having so much fun in the water. And what ingenuity to think of the umbrellas rather than giving up. They are so inspiring; you are really doing a great job with them Wynne. I’m loving all of your post – the flowers, the bunny – and the heart and smiles – what a perfect way to start the weekend 😁💜

What a lovely comment. Thank you, Brenda! We have a lot of stubbornness in the family so I suppose we forgot we could just fold up the table and go inside. 🙂

I understand stubbornness, I prefer to say I’m determined and it will make them more resilient

It sounds like you have some budding entrepreneurs on your hands, and they’ve already figured out the value of good customer service!

They’ve got the excitement and the enthusiasm for sure. They don’t have much customer banter/small talk but we’re working on that. 🙂 Hope you are having a lovely weekend, Jane!
