“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.” – Joe Walton

Last weekend on my brother’s tugboat. So much fun to paddle board, swim in the lake and go in the hot tub – but a little surprising we could do it in mid-October in Seattle.

After the Mariners lost in an 18-inning playoff game, we decided to practice our own brand of baseball. If only the Mariners had bats this big, they might have won!

Other hi-jinks like FaceTime with dogs, hanging around home (and playing with photo editing) and Blue Jays hanging around outside.

And my favorite local signage. How was your week?
Adore the family photos. The little face peeking through the door ajar is wonderful. Both signs are memorable, the giraffe one I’d never thought about before, the condiment one I’ve read before. I do hope it’s not the condiment that made the giraffe sick. 😊

Ha, ha, Ally. Never thought about mixing the two signs. I did wonder which condiment most of my failures have been. A spicy one for sure… 🙂 Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Another beautiful batch of pics! Like Ally, I love the pics of the kids. I don’t know if they could be sweeter. But two funny things stuck me: 1. God bless your knees, Wynne. Mine wouldn’t tolerate paddle boarding for a second – impressive! and 2. Is it just me or is that pic of the blue jay scary looking? Maybe it’s because I recently saw the episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon loses his mind with birds, but wowza. Birdy looks intense! Thanks for the Saturday morning smiles, Wynne! 😉

Yikes – ‘two funny things…STRUCK me’. 😉 Not STUCK me. Sigh…

I read it as struck so I didn’t even notice… 🙂

Ah, yes, the knees. They are sensitive things in this mid-life period, aren’t they? Funny, I couldn’t decide between standing all the way up or sitting all the way down and ended up on my knees. Then I decided Mr. D was wobbly enough to warrant sitting all the way down but couldn’t get my legs around without dumping us. Which is a long way of saying, I was on my knees because I didn’t have another choice. 🙂
And you’re right about that Blue Jay. He does look intense. Sounds like a good episode of Big Bang Theory!
Hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Vicki!

The quote is absolutely true, and the photo absolutely fantastic. And it’s amazing to see the variety of animals visiting your house (I remember the raccoon some time ago)

It does feel busy, Jane! I’d wish for it to be a little more relaxed but I know that’ll come too quickly. Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Holy cow, your gas is expensive!
I don’t know which is more surprising: the fact that your brother has a tugboat, or that there’s a hot tub on the tugboat. Pretty cool regardless.

Yes, the gas is expensive. I don’t even buy it at that gas station because they tend to be particularly pricey but I go by for the signs.
The tugboat – a WWII era navy tug that my brother has lovingly (and patiently) worked on for over 20 years. The hot tub is a nice touch!
Hope you guys have a great weekend!

What a delightful saying! I forgot who said “it’s not the number of moments in your life, but the amount of life in your moments” — I’m glad you’re filling your moments with LIFE 🙂

Well, Maya Angelou said, “Life is not measure by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” – but I think I’ve heard the life version too.
Either way, thank you for the delightful comment, EW. Yes to life — and especially these two little ones that come wired for with lots of LIFE! 🙂 ❤

Looks like you all ushered out our prolonged summer really well Wynne. I was dog sitting for a bit and in the forest, which was lovely. Yesterday the space heaters came out and the summer sandals were put away until next year. I have mixed emotions- these last few weeks have been lovely.

I feel you on the mixed emotions. It’s so nice to have the smoke gone but yes, the last few weeks have been lovely. Your dog sitting and forest sound wonderful too!

Fun in the water sounds great. Hm, the photos won’t download due to our slow internet. Do you tend to make them a little smaller so they download easily? Gracias, R

In my post I select a photo, then go into the gear wheel next to the publish button. Under “block” I select 50% or 75% for the photo. Quick load helps SEO as well, per the experts. 🙂 Now for me to call my internet provider to speed sites up for our household in general!

I’d have to say ditto to all of the comments already posted, but I also thought the intense expression on Ms. O’s face as she swung the bat was adorable.
You manage to squeeze a lot of fun into your days. Not sure how you fit everything in, but it’s awesome! 🤍

Well, Kendra, if you must know my secret – my house is a mess because I prioritize playing over cleaning. 🙂
I hadn’t noticed the expression. So glad that you said that – such concentration!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Ha!! Well, you won’t get these moments back, so I think your priorities are well ordered, Wynne. 🥰The cleaning can be done any ‘ole time. And hope your weekend is lovely as well! 😊
