“A house is made with walls and beams. A home is built with love and dreams.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Coming home from my business trip last week, I got in late Friday night. So I woke up to the beautiful sunrise (featured photo) and a weekend with my precious kids. I got to sit on the floor and played Lincoln Logs and trucks, hear about all the new ways to make friendship bracelets and was reintroduced to the neighborhood (including the slugs).

Mid-week Seattle Mariners game with friends. I don’t claim to be a big baseball fan but it’s fun to go to the park!

And in addition to the ball park, there was also time spent at neighborhood parks on these beautiful fall days!

As we settled into our Friday night, Mr. D looked at the door at the crescent moon rising and said, “It needs another piece.”
How was your week?
The ad says that if you buy two gymnasts you get the boy in the drawer for free. A great deal!

Great welcome home. Reading fast I understood that slugs were a novel way to make friendship bracelets. Ha ha! I have a slug post today too, so they were on my mind… : )

As it happens, tonight is International Observe the Moon Might 2022. Aren’t children’s observations incredible? I hope you are writing them all down. I have a book of witty sayings from my kids. My three-year-old daughter once observed the moon and asked, “where is the jumping cow?

Oh, that’s a great comment about the cow. Indeed! And wonderful idea to write them down. I need to get a better way of doing that.
International Observe the Moon Night – perfect! So glad you told me, Evelyn!

He’s right. The moon could use another piece! Especially if you don’t want to trip over something in the dark.

I love those solar powered lights! I barely see them in the summer because they come on too late. 🙂

Solar powered lights! Who knew? Does that mean you can’t turn them off?

There’s an off switch. But they won’t turn on until it’s dark enough (or you put a towel over the sensor).

Interesting! I had no idea. And funny about the towel. Heehee. Like the lights are a bird in a cage. You tell it it’s nighttime by throwing a blanket over the cage.
