Photos of the Week: July 16

As I was going to bed this week, I spied this beautiful almost full moon shining through the window. It inspired my choice of the quote for this week, “Follow your inner moonlight; don’t hide the madness.” – Allen Ginsberg

I got a pedicure this week. The price was right and I didn’t have to wait…

My kids and I rode the light rail downtown, stopped at the ball park to buy some roasted peanuts and then snapped this picture of a plane as it was being transported on a train, passing underneath the arch of the baseball stadium.

Hard at work making the Oreo crust for their uncle’s birthday mud pie.

Taking the slip ‘n slide idea quite literally – although I guess in this case it’s a slide ‘n slip.

I’ve been doing yoga with the doors wide open on these beautiful summer mornings and it feels so refreshing!

It feels like we are in the full swing of summer here. How was your week?

    1. “I’ll be looking at the moon but seeing you.” What a beautiful line and an evocative song. I just looked it up and saw that Norah Jones released a version in 2020 during the pandemic which adds another distance the song covered. Thank you for this beautiful song to start my day, Dr. Stein!

  1. That was a dedicated technician doing your pedicure Wynne. Love the color chosen! All the pics are wonderful this week- I am quite fond of the Calla Lily- sort of matches the toes.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Wynne. It’s always a treat to see what you and your family have been up to. I had a great week, thanks. More articles came to me, and I just finished making another short presentation for my YouTube channel. All in all, just appreciating this incredible journey called “Life.” πŸ™πŸ˜Ž

  3. What a delightfully fun week you had! That pedicure is priceless and how nice your two kids are helping out with the Oreo crust pie. The full moon was all over social media this week. Glad you got a look!

  4. It looks like lots of summer fun going on at your house. I need to hire your pedicurist. I haven’t had a proper one since before the pandemic. 😊 And the slide πŸ› was an innovative idea for some extra fun for slip n’ slide. Did your daughter come up with that idea? A couple weeks ago, I had a slip β€˜n slide party, in my yard, for all the grands. We have a small hill in our yard so we started it at the top of it and they went slipping down pretty fast.

    1. Nancy – the hill sounds wonderful for your party with the grands. What a fun grandparent you are!

Actually the slide was my 2-year-old’s idea. I think he heard “Slide” and thought of it instead of understanding what one is supposed to do with a slip n slide. And since we don’t have a hill – it wasn’t a bad idea!

  5. It looks really like a good summer! When I need a pedicure, I will remember your son and ask for the same (style and price πŸ˜€). My week was extraordinary, I am on vacation in beautiful, and ever sunny Sicily with my parents and son!

    1. Doing summer is easy – I just follow my kids lead. They know when to get out the water and how to chase down the ice cream truck instinctively. πŸ™‚
