Photos of the Week: July 2

The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth, dwelling deeply in the present moment and feeling alive.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

Nothing like the feel of sand between the toes!

Miss O did rock climbing camp this week. I can’t describe how much I love seeing her climb at the gym I’ve climbed at for years – the first indoor rock climbing gym in the US! (She’s not in the middle picture but I think that’s the most impressive wall at this gym.)

Backyard pool fun!

This is the kind of pizza Miss O likes to eat! What was on your plate this week?

    1. There is definitely magic to be found at the beach. I’m lucky that this one is just 15 minutes from my house but I didn’t take the time to go there very often before children so I needed a reminder too!

    1. We had a home-made pizza (yes, from scratch, including the dough) this week, artichokes, eggplants, spinach, onions, olives, and mushrooms, and as scrumptious as it was, I agree with Mary about how delightful your fruit pizza looks, I’d love to have some of that! Where do you get watermelons with such a thin rind? 🙂

      1. Wow, EW, that sounds like a great pizza! I prefer mine with dough so perhaps I could eat with you next time! 🙂 We got that watermelon at … Costco, of course! 🙂 Enjoy your 4th!

      2. Watermelon pizza for desert – perfect! Yes, those are the individual size watermelons. And I just cut into another one and I noticed it had the same thin rind (I hadn’t been paying attention before you said something). Sorry that you aren’t getting those thin rinds! Fingers crossed the next ones are better!

  2. What a beautiful day at the beach! That indoor rock climbing wall at the gym is quite impressive. I’m not a climber, but my younger son, who loved climbing trees as a kid, would have enjoyed spending time at such a gym.

  3. Such fun pictures! I love this activity for your daughter…teaching strength, self-reliance, and independence. We will have a similar looking “pizza” for 4th of July…lots of fresh fruit! Have a GREAT weekend 🙂
