Oh, sweet summer sunshine!
“Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Beach time! Miss O is very good at collecting crabs. Apparently, she wanted to look at a dozen of them up close before letting them go. Thank goodness they didn’t end up all over her face or down her clothes…

A foggy morning view and a sunny morning view of the Space Needle.

Fountains and cotton candy – nothing better!

I was given the gift of a float in a sensory deprivation tank. It was just 10 inches of water, a bag (or so) of Epsom salt, me and my thoughts. At first I thought, “I’m going to do this for an hour?” and then I fell asleep. I was hoping for a conversation with God or major epiphany and while that didn’t happen, it felt like I’d been rebooted like a computer.
How was your week?
What a great gift. Maybe that was God telling you that you needed more sleep rather than a conversation! 😏

When I was in school we had a physical elective. One semester I took yoga. It was hard to sleep because of all the snoring from my fellow yoga-students 😀

The beach was super fun. I’m loving this age where they just are so interested in discovering and exploring. Hope you have a great weekend, Ab!

That’s a whole lot of cotton candy Miss O has!

Yes! Hopefully mostly air since the rest is pure sugar. 🙂

I’ve done my hour in a sensory deprivation tank like you, Wynne. No revelations for me, either.

That’s so interesting, Dr. Stein. Okay, it’s not just me that didn’t hear anything. 🙂 Well, I suppose it’s a good thing to try once!

For what it’s worth Wynne, this ole duffer would suggest you continue you continue to ‘soak’ in the sensory saturation of your precious children’s uninhibited joy before ‘structured’ adulthood all too soon diminishes it . Afterward there will be time to soak in the sensory deprivation of empty nest Epsom salts.

Love this advice, Fred! I think you are right that I should enjoy the full sense of this life as it is right now!

There was a tipping point for me when My kids kept me young. Now kids make me feel older. You are not there. However, seeing pictures of the kids makes me feel younger. how does that work?? Fun times.

This is a fascinating comment, Gary. Must be because you are so engaged in the curiosity and fullness of life that your “youth” is triggered and everlasting!

LOL, love me some Epsom salt baths! Never tried it with that much though! Your daughter may be a future Marine Bio;ogist with her fascination for sea life?!

Right, Tamara – it was a lot but wow was it buoyant!
Good point about the marine biologist – maybe so!

It’s wonderful that your kids have so many interesting spaces to explore and feed their curiosity! Kudos to you for floating in a sensory deprivation tank. I prefer rebooting in the outdoors, far from confined dark spaces 🙂

Love this comment, Rosaliene. It took me a year to use that gift of a tank float because I enjoy the outdoors too. But it was interesting to try once. Hope you have a great weekend!

Always wanted to try the tank but my claustrophobia would probably be a contraindication. Love the beach photos.

The tank is interesting. I’m mildly claustrophobic and it didn’t prickle me at all so it might be doable, Evelyn. Thanks for the comment!

I love your photos, Wynne 💜 I’ve always wanted to try a sensory deprivation tank, but wondered about claustrophobia. Such a great gift of a new experience.

Thanks, Natalie! I wondered about claustrophobia too. I have it mildly but the tank is big enough (and in the one I was in you could leave the door open if you wanted) that it didn’t even spark a tinge of it.

Ahh, I miss the Space Needle! There was a time when I drove by it practically once a month.

It certainly is a memorable spot on the skyline. My daughter was in a camp at Seattle Center last week and it was fun to be in the neighborhood for a lot of different views of the Space Needle!
