My daughter rode her bike to a sleepover at my mom’s last weekend, an event that marked for me how grown-up she’s getting on so many levels. This picture shows her with her grandparent escorts, my mom’s friend who Miss O calls her “honorary grandpa” in the rear carrying her stuffies in his backpack.
We also did a lot of good spring cleaning this week. When we aren’t at the carwash (and like Bridgette, I might have to get a monthly membership), Mr. D is usually satisfied by being able to wash the windows at the gas station.

Good for Mr. D. A good man is hard to find!

Thanks, Alegria! He loves all sorts of cleaning activities – sweeping, vacuuming, car washing. I’m letting him practice as much as he wants! 😉

Thank you for sharing!!… no doubt they are gathering memories that will last them a lifetime and when they grow old and gray they can say “do you remember when”… 🙂
Until we meet again..
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
Brightened by a song
in your heart,
And warmed by the smiles
of people you love.

I love that you get your kids involved so early in house work and chores. Way to go, Mr D. And how great for your daughter to ride her bike to your moms. Hope you enjoy the free time!

The bike ride caravan with the “stuffies” in the backpack is adorable. But your little man helping with the cleaning wins the prize for sweetness!

Thanks, Betsy! He loves to clean and I am encouraging that! Really will have to get that monthly subscription to Brown Bear car wash though… 😉

My little guy loves unloading the dishwasher. It’s a little nerve-wracking for me, but he does (mostly) get the job done correctly! I’m so glad he will literally run to do it when I ask for a volunteer. Wonder how long this will last.

I wonder the same thing! That’s awesome that Joe is a willing volunteer. I hear you about the nerve-wracking. After letting him waste $2 worth of vacuuming at the car wash the other day, I tried to nicely ask for my turn just to get it done. Hopefully that doesn’t undercut his cleaning confidence. 😉
