Tenderness: kids and animals
Our friends gave us this cat as a 4-week old 1.4 lb feral kitten that had been living in a dishwasher on the front porch of a home that was being renovated. Miss O was 3-years-old and pretended to read to her until she became comfortable with us. Mr. D has been talking to and trying to train her. Mostly he shakes the treats bag and she comes running.
I am a dog person but my kids have done a great job making Simone into a pretty fun cat.

This cat appears to have a heavy dose of personality!

It’s all due to the kids! I feed her and then move on to the next task but they have done a good job of raising her. 🙂

These images are so heartwarming. The one with the cat wrapped in a towel just kills me. It says a lot about your children’s calmness and care that the cat sits still like that. Way to go!

Hee, hee. Well, I wasn’t so sure that would work out so I wrapped the kitten in the towel just in case the claws came out. Somehow it all worked and I got a picture – which to me represents the small victories we have to count as wins in parenting. 🙂

Gosh what joy from all three of them. Miss O full of glee. Mr. D full of tenderness. And Simone full of gratitude I’m sure.

Well, Alegria – she is a cat… 🙂 So I’d say she’s as grateful as cats can be — but she is pretty sweet!

Love this so much. The FLUFF on that cat! Wow. The floofier the better–to bury my face in. I want to snuggle that kitty so much now!

She does have a lot of FLUFF!! I think when she was the 1.4 lb kitten, at least half of that weight had to be just fur. 🙂
My daughter asked me if we could divorce the kitty so we could get a dog. 🙂 I assured her that the cat will adjust just fine to a puppy. Hopefully that all works out…

You’re thinking of taking on a puppy too? You are so brave!
Oooh, the fluff. I’ll be dreaming about that floofy kitty tonight!

Only getting a puppy after my son is pretty solid on the potty training so that I only have to pick up after one creature in the house. 🙂
