Humor: Jan 2nd

Since we are (hopefully) going back to school this week, I thought I’d post these favorite excuses written by parents to principals. I believe these were first published in an Ann Landers column.

  • Please excuse Lisa from school yesterday. She was sick so I had her shot.
  • I hope you will excuse John for being absent Jan 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and also 33.
  • Please excuse Tommy for being absent yesterday. He had diarrhea and his boots leak.
  • Dear Mr. Thomas, Jennifer missed school yesterday for a good reason. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday, we thought it was Sunday.

Hoping no one mistakes Monday for Sunday this week. 🙂

  1. These are funny. And thank goodness in person learning is continuing. I was so sure we’d return to virtual learning with case counts so high.

I once missed work over the holiday break because I thought we were closed for a holiday but we were actually opened and expected to work. Oops.

    1. I think that’s a very good excuse to miss work! I suspect that with COVID we probably don’t even need an excuse if our kids are absent. Good luck with the return tomorrow! ❤

      1. Thanks Wynne. Our government is likely to announce virtual learning for the next two weeks later today. Kids are supposed to go back to in person this Wednesday but that’s in jeopardy now. 😑
