Biscuit and Simon, Obama and Biden, we love and celebrate our bromances!
Biscuit has picked his horse and he is running with it.
But when that horse doesn’t win, can he cheer for the other? The over-inflated one with the funny mane and habit of sneaking up the inside for a win that doesn’t feel real?
Biscuit says that it’s our obligation to cheer regardless of the outcome because we are cheering for the privilege of participating in the race. We are cheering for the bigger picture reality that we are all so lucky to have a say and while the horse gets all the attention, it’s the collective energy of our caring that makes a difference!
The Zen Biscuit delivers a nugget to chew on.
It’s a clarifying moment when you realize your child is all ears!
“Democracy does require a basic sense of solidarity. The idea that for all our outward differences, we are all in this together, that we rise or fall as one.” – Pres. Barack Obama.
Waiting for Biscuit and Simon to rise….
Simon is working on having mature responses to feedback. Meanwhile those of us who were taught to turn the other cheer and not pick on others remain uncomfortable.
Even dogs need emojis to tell you when they are joking!
Miss O and Aunt Deirdre read the report on Divine Involvement (board book edition). Some people have high confidence that it’s true, others are skeptical that we can know. But to paraphrase from one of my dad’s favorites, Pascal’s wager, there is a big downside if it’s true and we do nothing.
At the very least we all can agree it’s a blessing we are here and that we have a responsibility to take care of each other, our country and our beautiful planet. Our hearts go out to the families and victims in Ft. Lauderdale.
Bad puns for our game today? No problem! Bad punts – no way! Go Seahawks!!
What’s so hard about working out?
