Photos of the Week: August 23

The years teach much which the days never knew.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our cat has walked with Cooper and me so often that I forget how funny it is until someone makes a comment. She runs when she’s behind and then lounges if she gets ahead. This week we ran into two friends walking three dogs and she just sat there about 10 feet away looking bored. She takes catitude to a whole other level!

My two favorite water pictures of the week. In the first, googles catching some summer rain. And the second is a dog water bowl suspended from fire hydrant at our local fire station.

Miss O turned 10 years old! Makes me a little (a lot) teary thinking about how much she’s grown in 10 years, how much work it has been, and also how much fun we’ve had!

The sign of the week is by six-year-old Mr. D who elected himself in charge of safety at Miss O’s birthday party. Hope you all have a great weekend – and Be Safe!

  1. I was smiling through viewing all your photo’s Wynne. What a bonus to have gorgeous Cooper plus such a cool, laidback cat (Simone?) who incidentally looks similar to our tuxedo cat, Cafferty. Double figures for Miss O, the years wait for no one 😔 and to see them grow up into interesting young people is a bonus (and as you say, a lot of hard work) and so pleasurable. Mr D protecting his sister’s safety – what a guy! – and the importance of his message for me is that it’s the ‘understanding’ that is the crux! 😊

  3. I love the cat and dog. My childhood cat used to follow us when I walked the dog. It was so fun! A big happy birthday to Miss O!! Oh, how the time flies. And Mr. D’s missing front teeth is the sweetest thing.

  4. Happy 10th birthday, Miss O. And Mr. D sure dressed up for his sister’s birthday. He makes a great safety officer. And I love that the cat walks with you and the dog. So cool!

  5. Happy 10th birthday to Miss O! It’s been a joy being able to follow along for the latter half of this milestone through your stories. Your hard work is paying off every day, Wynne.

Love the blue streak in Mr D’s hair and your cat is just beautiful and hilarious. They’re cats for a reason!

  6. Some many dimensions of love here. I love the sign of the week. The world would definitely be a safer place with Mr. D in charge. Two birthday parties in one month, now that is impressive.

    1. Yes, I’m tired after all the parties, Clay. Thanks for noticing. 🙂 Funny about so many dimensions – I read it that way so I knew what you meant! Hope your first full week of school is great!

  7. Happy Birthday to Miss O! Ten years old, that’s a big deal. Your cat is awesome. I think our next pet is going to be a cat; I love their attitude. Mr. D is a natural-born leader. Safety is priority number one, so he’s on the right path, and of course, he’s already dressing for success. 👍
