Photos of the Week: December 21

Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.” – Roger Miller

Featured photo is one I took of a heron standing one-legged in a steady rain. Anything looking that peaceful seemed worth stopping the car to take a picture of.

Playing ball. Miss O had a busy choir performance schedule so Mr. D and I spent a good amount of time mixing up our sports metaphors (like the football jersey, baseball mitt, and tennis ball in the second photo)

Ice skating and meeting Buoy, the Kraken mascot.

Using leverage in all sorts of ways!

Spending some time with Santa (and my brother and his wife). I think Mr. D wore his Santa hat all week in preparation.

One of Mr. D’s holiday creations on top of a beautiful hand-crafted hot chocolate mug he received as a gift. A lot of heart in those gifts. 🙂

Happy Holidays, Everyone! Here’s to a great 2025! I’ll see you in the new year!

  2. Your daily celebration of life with your two little blessings is a welcomed reminder of how abundantly blessed we all are in the “… alot of heart in those gifts…” we experience each day through the grace of Him who gave us the greatest gift of all some 2,000 years ago.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS Wynne!

  3. I love all your photos. We’ve had a heron in our back yard for the past few days, but it’s been here too early to snap a photo (not enough light). Your family photo is wonderful! And you guys get to skate – nice! I miss living in a place where local ponds freeze over and all the neighborhood kids learn to skate pushing a kitchen chair around on the ice. Have a very merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you, Susan! Love your ice skating memories. Now that the Kraken are in Seattle, it seems there are more opportunities to skate!

Merry Christmas to you! So grateful to have connected with you!
