Photos of the Week: July 27

It’s pointless to believe what you see if you only see what you believe.” – Marie Lu

We spent some time with our favorite spitting frogs. They’ve delighted us ever since Miss O was a baby and still are loads of fun!

I take all of my photos with my camera phone. This week I upgraded my phone – not to the latest version but still four versions newer. Everything is looking a little bit brighter now.

Mr. D spent some time appreciating a puppy that wouldn’t steal his undies.

The cat letting it all hang out. And Rusty trying to get out.

The hard thing about living in a glass enclosure must be that the key seems SOOO close.

Mr. D lost a tooth, turned five, and lost another tooth – all in ONE week! By the second tooth, which happened to come out on his birthday, the tooth fairy was so tired that she almost forgot to write back. Thank goodness for the whisper of paper during a good night kiss to remind the tooth fairy of her duty.

We spent some time pedal boating around the lake we always bike, drive, and walk around. It was so much fun to experience it from another perspective.

This last photo and the sign of the week also challenge our perspective!

  1. The sign reminded me of this, Wynne, especially appropriate this week:

“Do you remember that in classical times when Cicero had finished speaking, the people said, “How well he spoke” but when Demosthenes had finished speaking, they said, “Let us march.”

  2. I LOVE the last two photos. Mr. D looks like he was ready for a good night’s sleep. The gas sign tells it all – what are you willing to do? Sacrifice, every aspect our lives asks for a trade off, a sacrifice of some sorts. Some are easy trades, others not so. Thanks for the uplifting message this morning. Have a fabulous weekend.

  3. Miss O is getting to be so leggy! And Cooper just as mischievous as ever. Happy birthday to Mr. D! 🙂 I wonder how the Tooth Fairy is doing these days, given inflation.

    1. Funny thing about the tooth fairy – Delta Dental actually runs a poll of tooth fairy rates. In the US, the average is $5.84 for a tooth. In Europe? 5.4 euros. 🙂

  4. Happiest of birthday to Mr D! 5 already. Time flies. The tooth fairy and family has had a fun filled and energetic week! Hope you’re all getting some rest this weekend.

  5. Love the contrast of Mr. D with the statue puppy next to Mr. C caught red-pawed with Mr. D’s rompers in his chompers! I’m also struck by the price of gasoline. Talk about tooth-fairy inflation and the cost of moving one’s bones from one place to another. Yikes!

  6. Love, love, love that last sign (about what you need to do, in order to get something) totally reminds me of how I happened to get married. (A radical/ radical/ gut churning step of faith out into the unknown) and the pictures of the kids…precious. They both glow with life. Good job Mom. DM

  7. Wonderful photos, and happy birthday to Mr. D. Cooper looks so innocent. I don’t think he stole it; he just found it in the backyard and is returning it to Mr. D. 😂
