Photos of the Week: June 1

Some poor, phoneless fool is probably sitting next to a waterfall somewhere totally unaware of how angry and scared he’s supposed to be.” – Duncan Trussel

The Memorial Day weekend backyard campout. Cooper can’t figure out why he isn’t invited in the tent inner sanctum.

Measures of growing up. You no longer fit through the tiny door at the dentist office. And you start making pancakes.

Mr. D has been showing me the fun sights in the neighborhood near his school. It amazes me how little kids see things like slugs in trees that are well above their heads and completely unnoticeable to me. Sharp little eyes.

Cooper, that is not what “good taste in shoes” means. But you are learning how to cross paws!

Things seen on walks. Baby crow. Unfolding roses. And sweet girls with bins on their heads.

Rainbows and signs.

  1. I swear the kids grow…so much…from week to week. Gah! Slow them down! And the crow? Did I spy…with my little eye…the tiny crow defying the “no solicitors” sign, just below where he proudly stood? 😜

  2. The precious memories you’re building with your children put a smile in my heart remembering those shared with mine. Thanks Wynne.

Your humorous, yet poignant quote, reminds me of how blessed this ole fool is the live over a waterfalls (pics). Somewhat reluctantly, it’s now up for sale as my wife and I feel the Last Frontier calling us back to turn the final pages in life’s journals there. We pray the another ‘fool’ will appear to purchase it and be blessed to enjoy its secluded serenity as we have.

    Be Blessed!

  3. Oh how I love that beginning quote. Looks like the Leon’s wrapped up another extraordinary week of family life. Love the backyard camping. My grandkids are in the last few days of school, the excitement is palpable, I’m sure yours are getting close too. Thanks for sharing your week. Hugs, C

  4. I love your photos. Backyard camping and garden railroads were some of my son’s favorite things when he was younger. And I remember making pancakes as a girl. During the summer when we went to our summer cottage, I befriended a neighbor girl and we’d get up early, pick blueberries (it was August), make blueberry pancakes at her house and then make them at mine. Fun to watch your kids and Cooper grow!

  5. How fun that the backyard camping has started again! I love your backyard lights. They look so pretty!

And please save some of Ms O’s chocolate chip pancakes for me. They look so delicious!

Enjoy your week ahead. You must be so close to the start of your summer break. 4 more weeks for us.

  6. Love all the backyard and neighborhood shenanigans. Kids do notice all the beautiful little details. We can learn so much from them. And Cooper of course!
Still laughing at the sign. 🤣 Love it.

  7. I love these! All wonderful! The backyard camping reminded me of my daughter when she was around 12, she and a girlfriend slept in the tent for a month. After a month her mom called and said she missed her daughter and wanted her back home. The girls had a great time, playing dress-up and reading all day!

      1. They were having a blast, and intended to do it for the whole summer, but grownups had other plans! 😆
