Photos of the week: December 3rd

The pets seem confused this week. The cat is sleeping in the window box planters. Cooper is an English golden retriever in an American house carrying a Canadian flag. And Cooper also thinks the Christmas tree is a self-service chew toy stand.

Making Gingerbread Houses with my friend, Jill. Weird how no licorice actually made it ON to my house. Or, given my sweet tooth, it’s probably no surprise to anyone.

Not sure whether to caption this science week or eye-wear week but either way we seemed to find pouring and pounding a lot of fun.

We made it to the finish line of a 5k that Miss O had been practicing for. Mr. D did 4k of it running in rubber rain boots without any training which was almost as impressive as Miss O pushing him for the other 1k. Running isn’t my sport but I was glad that I secretly trained enough to be able to make it through. We all felt like super heroes in the end!

The heart and the sign of the week, because who doesn’t love quoting John Muir?

    1. Yes, the Coke experiment was good for anticipation. We didn’t get as much reaction as we’d like so the result was less fun. But that’s why we call it an experiment, right? Hope you have a great weekend, Erin!

    1. I find Cooper sitting in front of the tree as if planning which ornament to steal next. It’s a slow speed caper.

  6. I love your pet and running snippets, Wynne. We’re grappling with kitten behavior in our household at the moment. It takes patience. Young animals have minds of their owns. But Cooper gets big points for diplomacy! 🙂 Congratulations on a great week, your super heroes, you. (Thank for sharing, as always.)

    Does the cat think the planter is a litter box perhaps? 😆

    We’re gonna do a gingerbread house closer to Christmas. Always a fun activity.

    1. Argh – you’re probably right about the cat and the planter. And yes – Coke and Mentos – exactly. But we didn’t get much if a geyser this time. I wonder if the recipe has changed or if we were just doing it wrong.
