“The secret to having it all is knowing you already do.” – unknown

We spent a lot of time Halloweening last week. That’s a valid verb isn’t it? It should be for all the effort and action put in. As for the late night trick or treaters showing up at the back door (last picture) – I guess they are still trying to figure out how it all works.

Or they were coming up to see the recently finished back deck. And before you think I’ve gone too far with the named chore days with Edge-It-With-Scissors Saturday, let me assure you that wasn’t my idea. Miss O thought that up on her own.

Cooper tries boating and camping. Although the latter was just in the comfort of our family room.

The heart and the sign of the week.
You are raising your kids so that they can do anything. No small parental accomplishment. Hats off to you, Wynne.

Well, thank you, Dr. Stein. I suspect it’s just a mirror of how I was raised and look what happened to me… π

What happened to you is one thing, not entirely in your power. Who you are today, the woman who is raising your children, is quite another.

That’s what I thought about edging with scissors too, Julia. But wow did it look good when she finished a section. I like the bacon seeds too – I’ve been searching for those a long time. π

So, so good! And Iβd say you had a Halloween-y week for sure! Complete with a complete of bandits on your deck. Did Cooper or Simone catch a glimpse?!?π

No, neither Simone or Cooper caught sight. I’ve never seen them come up so far and since it was Halloween night, I figured it was just part of the fun. π

Sign me up for some bacon seeds!
Oh, the raccoons at the back door slider! I have lots of memories of those sightings and Alison’s cat hissing at them through the window π

I’d turn into a gardener in a second if I could find bacon seeds. That’s funny about the cat hissing at raccoons. I’m guessing they probably didn’t even care, did they?

Nope, they did not, and they were easily 3x the size of the cat π

I love the quote and your photos. Wynne, you seem to have a knack for living richly in the moment, squeezing every last drop out of happiness out of life. That is a real gift. π

Wow, Susan, what a wonderful thing to hear. You are right – when we enjoy the lives we have, it is such a gift. It reminds me of the sub-title of my favorite meditation book “Having the Life You Want By Being Present to the Life You Have.” The meditations must be working… π

I love every single photo. Your children are so beautiful and Cooper is too! Where were you by the boat? I try to envision the area from my memories.

Thank you, Elizabeth! We were on the Westlake side of Lake Union near China Harbor and facing east towards Gas Works park.

Oh those cheeky raccoons. We have some like that who live in our yard. When we sit outside at night, they come right up to us.

Wow – that is so bold! I hope they are friendly to domesticated animals if they are going to be hanging around!

Ha, ha. Yes, next year the racoons can come to the front door where I just leave the bowl of candy out while we’re trick or treating! π
Hope you all had a great weekend!
