Photos of the Week: November 4

The secret to having it all is knowing you already do.” – unknown

We spent a lot of time Halloweening last week. That’s a valid verb isn’t it? It should be for all the effort and action put in. As for the late night trick or treaters showing up at the back door (last picture) – I guess they are still trying to figure out how it all works.

Or they were coming up to see the recently finished back deck. And before you think I’ve gone too far with the named chore days with Edge-It-With-Scissors Saturday, let me assure you that wasn’t my idea. Miss O thought that up on her own.

Cooper tries boating and camping. Although the latter was just in the comfort of our family room.

The heart and the sign of the week.

      1. What happened to you is one thing, not entirely in your power. Who you are today, the woman who is raising your children, is quite another.

    1. That’s what I thought about edging with scissors too, Julia. But wow did it look good when she finished a section. I like the bacon seeds too – I’ve been searching for those a long time. πŸ™‚

Oh, the raccoons at the back door slider! I have lots of memories of those sightings and Alison’s cat hissing at them through the window πŸ™‚

    1. Wow, Susan, what a wonderful thing to hear. You are right – when we enjoy the lives we have, it is such a gift. It reminds me of the sub-title of my favorite meditation book “Having the Life You Want By Being Present to the Life You Have.” The meditations must be working… πŸ™‚

  3. These are such precious pictures and how amazing you are getting the kids involved with meal prep. I love it!

Halloween looked like a lot of blast and maybe the raccoons will figure it out one of these days too! πŸ’•πŸŽƒ

    1. Ha, ha. Yes, next year the racoons can come to the front door where I just leave the bowl of candy out while we’re trick or treating! πŸ™‚

Hope you all had a great weekend!
