“Keep your feet on the ground and your thoughts at lofty heights.” – Peace Pilgrim

From the top left – turns out the Miss O is very good at winning games at the Washington State Fair. She also likes the rides, ans it turns out that I don’t. It’s as if I needed a reminder that I’m an endurance person, not a speed person. See my expression on the bumper cars. And on the swingy-swingy thing. Ugh! Miss O is the one with her arms out wide. I’m the one with my eyes closed.
Hence the quote selection for this post – yep, keep the feet on the ground. And yes, I’m totally fine with you laughing with/at me. 🙂

I’d entitle this grouping “Mr. Cooper goes to Washington” but since we’re already here, I guess that’s not exactly accurate. Instead, its the Adventures of Mr Cooper: he goes to school, learns to drive, hangs out at the dog park, goes for a neighborhood lie-about, and then decides he decides riding in the car best of all.

The heart and the sign of the week which sums it all up beautifully.
Is that a shredded wheat biscuit under Miss O’s chin?😉

No, it’s a popcorn bucket stuffy she won playing Whack-a-Mole. 🙂

This takes me back to a trip to Disney World when my grandkids about Miss O’s age. I was proud of myself for riding on e-v-e-r-y- single ride in the park and making it out alive! Oh yes—and having a lot of fun in the process! I love the sweet memories that you are making for your family!

Oh, I’m so impressed. Julia. Maybe if we go to Disneyland, you can come too? 🙂

You know I love every photo…so much…but the imagery of Cooper meandering through the week and going for a neighborhood “lie about” cracked me up. Almost as much as the action shot of the three of you doing bumper cars. A worthy pic for a future holiday card? 🥰

Holiday cards…holy cow, that’s coming up, isn’t it? And that means I’m going to have to pick a top few. Yipes!! Yes, Cooper adventures are fun to follow – even if they aren’t really at high-speed yet! 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤

Who would have ever believed a swing could be scary? Not me until I was on that thing years ago and wanted off immediately! Not the “swinging time” that I expected at all 🙂 Glad everyone had a great time…mostly!

That is exactly what I thought! I had a deal with the other parent with us that she’d do all the whirly rides but there was a scare with one of her kids so I thought I could do a swing. Oh boy – glad I’m not the only one!! ❤ ❤ ❤

So many gifts here! I’ve been kinda trepidatious about a comparable future adventure I’m facing, seeing all its many cons. Your pictures here reminded me: OH, YEAH! It’s not JUST sensory overwhelm awaiting! It’s everything showing up in these pictures, too!
So, my trepidation’s not gone, just … now, I think, taken in fuller perspective. There will be mirth, TOO! Thanks! 😀

I’m chuckling, Deborah. It’s definitely sensory overwhelm – and fun too. I can understand your trepidation but we enjoyed the fun of it – and the elephant’s ears and sno-cones – too!! ❤ ❤ ❤

Love it! Especially the part Mr. Cooper goes to Washington. 😆
And a definite ugh! to the rides.
Great week. Enjoy your weekend Wynne.

About your expressions, I tell you something. Once we have been to Disneyland Paris and they (my husband and son) took me on the roller coasters. I was so scared that since then I don’t even want to see them from distance! I think that you guys had a lot of fun!

I completely understand that. Rollercoasters and other rides that do funny things with gravity are not my friends!! 🙂

Your pictures are a hoot. Love the pic of Miss O carrying her stuff animal and the face of the woman behind you laughing. I suspect she wasn’t the only one. The dog is bigger than both Miss O and Mr. D. And yes, Cooper seems to be fitting in perfectly. Ha, ha. Have a great rest of the weekend.

I love that you picked up on the woman laughing, Brian. I had to go back and take another look. You’re right – I don’t think she was the only one… 🙂
Hope you enjoy your weekend! ❤ ❤ ❤

Oh my…that is one gigantic stuffie that Miss O won! And I am with you on not enjoying rides, Wynne. I don’t mind some of them but if you take me too high off the ground or upside down, I lose it!

Sounds like you and I would be well aligned at the fair, Michelle! Miss O won that stuffie getting a ring around a bottle. It was a legit hard thing to do so it’s well-earned even if it’s taking up a lot of space. 🙂 Hope you are having a great Saturday!

I’m not laughing. Rides are expensive, over too quickly, and – these days – dangerous. I’m content keeping my feet on the ground, too! Preferably while enjoying a bite from a soft pretzel.

You aren’t joking about how expensive they are – and I was thinking about that danger thing as I soared through the air. Oh yes, feet on the ground!

My daughter and the grandkids LOOOVE the rides, while I get queasy just looking at them! I was useful when the youngest was too short to go on the big rides, but once she got taller, I was ousted from my job of taking her to the kiddie rides!

I’m with you. I love the kiddie rides – a welcome relief! I’ll go with you to the fair any time, Tamara! 🙂

The state fair, the oversized stuffed animals, rides, dogs and an apple shaped like a heart. The American dream! Your images bring back such fond memories of my childhood but also raising my kids. I admire your stamina Wynne, risking life and limb on those rides, and finding the energy to live such a fun filled life with your kids. You’re amazing. Hugs, C
