“Even the darkest of night will end and the sun will rise.” – Victor Hugo

Mr D has already figured out at 3-years-old that if he wants to delay going to school, all he has to do is say we should stop to take a picture of the pretty sunrise. It works almost every time!

A little Discovery Park outing. Interesting how it’s hard to get both my kids to smile at the same time – but they’ll do synchronized goofy faces no problem!

The neighborhood skeleton has moved on to Valentine’s Day.

As has the grocery store display. (Remember their creative Halloween and Christmas displays?)

Which is a great segue to the heart of the week – hot in the pan!
Always a pleasure to see your brood. Thanks, Wynne.

Nice photos and the quote gives hope, I didn’t know that one from Hugo.

Yes, I like that quote too – especially for this time of year! Thanks, Cristiana!

What an utterly lovely and neighborly thing to have, I agree! I’ve never seen its equal, and I can’t wait to see it change with the seasons 🙂
For me, it was the pancake heart 🙂

I love how you call the skeleton neighborly, EW. It sure does give us all a great landmark to visit!
Glad you like the pancake heart – one of my favorite’s too. Hope you have a great Sunday!

I’m going to try that next week. When I’m slow getting around and starting work, I’m going to tell my boss that I had to pix of the morning sun. Hmm, I wonder if that will work. Perhaps! Beautiful pix Wynne. And yes, love the family shot. Beautiful!

I like the way you’ve adopted Mr D’s approach. I bet it will work! 🙂

It makes me laugh how your community has its own local calendar happening with the creative displays! What’s next…St. Pat’s Day I think?

You are so right about the community calendar. The guy that owns it is a firefighter and when he was redoing the family deck, he took it to a friends’ house for about 6 months. He commented that it was taking him more time than expected to keep it current with the calendar. 🙂

Oh your kids have figured you out, Wynne! 😆 But I bet you don’t mind sunrise photos at all. I love that your neighbour celebrates traditions through the front yard skeleton and the pop can displays. It really speaks to community.

What a lovely comment that makes me appreciate my community a little more, Ab. Yes, it’s fun. And you’re right – my kids have me pegged. 🙂

You had me with a freestyle heart pancake! ❤ Well…that and the Taco Bell gas giggle. Thanks for the Saturday morning smiles, Wynne! 😉

I’ll have to remember the sunrise excuse next time I roll in late to the office.

Except if I remember correctly, you are usually 5 minutes early so perhaps if you are late, it’d be right on time? It’s complicated math… 🙂

Clever children! Now I need to check to see if Mark commented about that skeleton…
He did not. Darn. The sunrise excuse is a pretty good one, though. 🙂

It is a pretty good one! And since you’ve admitted that you don’t see many – it would work triply for you! 🙂
