Photos of the Week: Oct 29

Learn character from trees, values from roots and change from leaves.” – Tasneem Harneed

Fall finally arrived in the Northwest!

So the kids built a fort under the bear that fits them both. Really – they are both in there.

Pumpkin carving. Miss O does not agree with Todd Fulginiti’s assessment in Halloween Hall o’Fame that the best Halloween smell is the inside of a pumpkin. And we were all scared when Mr D insisted as only a three-year-old can that he could do it himself.

When there was some construction activity in the neighborhood, Mr. D wanted to bring his trucks to the site to compare for authenticity. Or at least that seemed to be the point.

The signs of the week. How was your week?

  1. Looked like a fun week with the kids. I love the photo of Mr D comparing his digger truck with the real one. Shows real saviness and smarts, I think! 👍 Enjoy your weekend ahead!

  2. It was a week for being cozy and looking for breaks in the rain wasn’t it Wynne? My week: some early Christmas shopping, walking between showers, pulling out the flannel sheets for the season, watching the squirrels and blue jays competing for nuts from the feeder, a commercial fire 2 blocks away and the ensuing flexibility of the local community to alter plans for a homecoming parade.

  3. Looks like an awesome week! Love those signs! I think the kids built a cave for spelunking, not just a fort!

    1. On a completely unrelated note, I wanted to say I’ve been reading your book, and am loving it. It’s taking me longer than I’d like because of a lack of time, but any little chance I get, I’m back at it. It’s been a real joy. 🤍

  5. It looks like and sounds like a fun week! We finally had a cool front move through Friday, so the high yesterday and today was about 70. After such a terribly hot summer, anything under about 85 feels “cool” now LOL I like Miss O’s solution to the yucky pumpkin smell! Our 25 year old daughter came by yesterday to carve pumpkins that she and her dad made as masks to wear and to take some funny pictures. Some books and knives were involved in the photo shoot. I’ll try to get some of those posted 🙂 It was fun and a good distraction from the recent loss of our sweet pup. I hope this next week is a good one for us all ❤️

    1. So glad it was cooler for you and you had such a nice distraction. It really is so hard to lose our beloved dogs, isn’t it? Such a deep grief. I hope this next week is a good one for us all too! Fingers crossed.
