Photos of the Week: Sept 3

Buy the ticket, take the ride.” – Hunter S. Thompson

We drove out to the North Cascades again last weekend and enjoyed some great scenery and more horse rides.

And then continued with horse rides once we got home.

Bouldering as a birthday present – one of Miss O’s picks that was a really fun!

Wildlife – a deer, some micro mini cows (from the North Cascades) and a squirrel enjoying the last of the plums in our yard.

Lake Union from the top of the Capital Hill steps which wraps up the view of our week. How was yours?

    1. Love this comment, Vicki. Yes, it’s so hard for the little ones who don’t get to ride on their own real horse. Thank goodness there was his own at home. Have a great weekend!

  1. There seems to be a trend forming with Miss O and horse riding…a fulfillment of so many kids dreams. I remember naming my hoped for chestnut mare Maggie when just a little older than Miss O. Happy weekend, and onward to cooler weather!

    1. Oh, a chestnut mare named Maggie. I’m guessing from your comment that you didn’t actually get her. Yes, it does seem to be a common dream – but wow, it’s expensive!!

My kids have both gone outside this morning with umbrellas which cracks me up since it isn’t even really raining. But it is blissfully cooler! Hope you enjoy the weekend!

  2. I love all the wonderful experiences you share with your children. The last photo of Mr. D is about my speed on a horse, lol. The photo with him in helmet reaching for a horse reminds me of my son when he was 2 or 3 and decided, upon meeting a horse for the first time, to stick his fingers right up both of the horse’s nostrils. 🐎 😆

  3. Were that our children would never have to grow up to face adulthood’s tribulations, and we could remain children to embrace their pure unfettered joys . . . growing up is highly over-rated Wynne 😊 Thanks for sharing these.

  4. Looks like a wonderful time was had by all! I love the horse photos – real and stuffed. And you all looked like had a blast at bouldering! Is that the same squirrel from last time?

    1. Thanks, Ab. I’m grateful my daughter likes some of the same things that I do!

I don’t think so as a squirrel. This is the first one I’ve seen in the yard eating a plum although the raccoons do it frequently.

  5. I went bouldering with my girls recently! I was just last night looking up places for rock climbing, and I thought of you! Of COURSE this is something you’d do with your daughter. 🙂 I should text you my pic. Lemme see if I can find it on my phone…

    1. I love your picture – you are a natural! I have to say that it’s not by accident that Miss O is into climbing since I signed her up for 2 rock climbing camps at my favorite gym this summer. But I still appreciate that she’s taken to it!
