“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find eternity in each moment.” – Henry David Thoreau

The last of the vacation pictures – a heron fishing in the morning and a brief sighting of orcas on the ferry ride home.

Miss O wanted a pink polaroid camera for her birthday. Which makes me laugh because as she very carefully takes the one picture that she wants so as not to waste her film, I get to snap 5 digital pictures of her in the process.

Wildlife at home – a raccoon eating plums in our backyard and a goose figuring out the neighborhood cross walks.

Finding dandelions to wish on…
Did you have a week full of wishes and dreams?
Your photography equals your writing skill. My goodness what gorgeous pictures. I especially the photo of her taking the photo! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Me too, Julia! Can you imagine all the things I’ll have to take pictures of then? 🙂 ❤

Very much so: and it looks like it’s genetic, too! Are there any photos of your cat’s surprising “wild life” gifts? 🙂

Thanks, EW! I took some pictures (and some videos) of the baby bunny because I knew that the kids would want to see that one. One of the pictures is on https://wynneleon.wordpress.com/2022/08/06/photos-of-the-week-aug-6/

As far as I can tell, the bunny has been inducted into the wild-animal-hall-of-fame 😀

Hilarious, EW! You have me howling. It earned that spot in the hall of fame that morning! 🙂

I agree with Julia! Terrific photos — and the pic of Miss O – and her focused (tee hee) gaze – fabulous. Keeper photo, for sure, just like all of your vaca pics. Thanks for sharing, Wynne! 😊

Awesome pics. I never thought of wishing on a dandelion. Boy, in early summer I’d have lots of opportunities!

I had no idea that the wish on a dandelion thing wasn’t ubiquitous. Funny!

The daisies I’m used to using aren’t nearly as ubiquitous or full of petals. Dandelions are a great pick!!

The dandelion pic reminded me of the buttercup tests! Did you ever do that? Pick a buttercup, hold the yellow flower under your chin and if the yellow reflection was apparent then you were a fan of butter… I always saw the yellow reflection and firmly believe that is why I still love cold slightly salty butter on warm fresh bread! Love the photos Wynne and you feed your raccoons very well. That guy seems very pleased with his plum.

Oh, I hadn’t heard of the buttercup test. But wow, the way you describe butter makes me want some on warm fresh bread!
Those plums are the bane of my existence for about 3 weeks in August. It’s a very old tree that seems to drop them all at once so I have no chance of getting ahead of it. It even drops plums on the kids as they swing. Which is a little funny. My pathetic attempts to pick plums and give them to the food bank doesn’t even make a dent in it.
But this year I found a non-profit that offers to pick people’s tree and distribute the food. They came this week and got 63 lbs!!
Hope you have a great weekend, Deb!

Wow, 63 lbs! That’s overwhelming. What a gift to share with so many people, and wildlife. Enjoy the cooler weather for a few days!

And just like that, she wanted a pink Polaroid camera like Miss O’s, to go with her new, rose-tinted glasses…
Love these photos, Wynne! 💖💖

I got my first film camera at Miss O’s age. (digital hadn’t arrived on the scene…;) If she would like to share her photos, it would be cool to see them!

Such lovely snippets of life, Wynne. Miss O is going to be quite the photographer one day. Raccoons are such pests but I couldn’t help but smile at the one enjoying a plum in your garden. And herons are such beautiful birds. Great snap!
Enjoy the rest of your summer and good luck with back to school!

Thanks, Ab! You are right about raccoons – but it was interesting to watch it pick out its plum.
Do you guys have a while before you go back to school since you get out so late?
