My Map

Some sentences unfold like maps. When I feel lost and foggy, this quote guides me back to a more vibrant life. It reminds me to participate – to get out of the bleachers and into the game. I find that when I do in big or small ways, reaching out to new friends, giving a compliment to a stranger, or trying a new way to express my inner self, I rediscover vitality and inspiration.

When I find myself disoriented because something didn’t work out as I hoped, the word relentlessly energizes me. It calls me to keep showing up, trying things, celebrating if they work and enthusiastically trying again if they don’t.

Sometimes I think that I get to sit back because I made the choice to become a single mom and now am blessed with a 2 ½ year old. But the third word that points the way for me is blessings, plural. We don’t just get one blessing in this life, we get countless blessings if we keep at it. Even with her prodigious talents, I don’t imagine that it is any easier for @elizabeth_gilbert_writer to relentlessly participate but am so grateful that she does and we all get the benefit of the blessings and wisdom that she so graciously shares. I hope she reaps 100 fold the blessings in return!
